2006-12-25: NQMSE, Version 0.3.0, prerelease.
Ladies and gentlemen, on this first day of Christmas I am proud to present to you, the future of Magic Set Editor. This new release is just one small step forwards, and a giant leap backwards. Behold, the amazing list of changes:
- no keywords
- no printing
- no export
- no search/replace
- no help
- no windows 9x build
- lots of new bugs
"Why should I upgrade?" I hear you think. Well my dear user, you shouldn't, unless you are one of those rare people who enjoy pain and suffering. One of those people who likes to spend the afternoon waxing his legs and pulling out toenails. One of those people who would enjoy running naked on shards of glass in the arctic while being attacked by a pack of ravenous teddy bears. If you are such a person then this new release is just the thing for you.
To prevent confusion among the sane, this new program is called "Not Quite Magic Set Editor" (NQMSE).
While you are enjoying your NQMSE, here is something else to think about.
2006-08-04: Version 0.2.7 released.
This release brings some long requested new features:
- Buttons for making text bold/italic
- Good looking guild watermarks
- Yu-Gi-Oh templates (by artfreakwiu)
And of course bug fixes and template tweaks:
- Correct snow mana symbol
- Fixed crash when creating new set
- Settings of styles are finally saved correctly
- The latest VS System templates
There are some changes in the file format, don't worry you will be able to open sets normally, only explicit mana symbols (using []) may be lost.
2006-07-18: Version 0.2.6 released.
This release is just a bug fix release, the following bugs have been squashed:
- Duplicate text in keyword reminder text
- Reminder text of Scry
- Not remembering zoom, and border display settings
- Crash when deleting cards
- Drawing glitches under windows 9x
- Support for symbols with transparency
The new templates will have to wait, sorry.
2006-06-25: Version 0.2.5 released.
I finally completed the long awaited 'next release'. New in this version:
- Improved high quality rendering
- Improved statistics/graphs
- Smart keywords, numbers are written with words, for example Graft 2 (This creature comes into play with two +1/+1 counters on it...). To use this with your own keywords all you need to do is say "counter(s)".
- Fixed bugs:
- Card sizes are now changed correctly when using different styles
- The infamous 'n' keyword bug
- Probably more Some template tweaks
I decided to release now, instead of waiting any longer. So some things are still missing. Not yet in this version, but comming soon:
- New guild watermarks
- YuGiOh templates
- Improved vs system templates
