Alright guys, It took several grinding hours but I think I've come up with the best possible solution to make this work. Firstly, the skeleton provided by Final Boss actually needed some tweaking, and it has been fixed to fit Wizards version of dragon's maze card for card (We had a few too many rares and not enough commons). In any case, it matches perfectly now, and I took the time in mse to code out the basic skeleton for each card that we need under the card notes section. I have 11 different files, one master, and one for each guild I'm going to post right now...

I created these files to make it really easy for you guys to finish off your parts of the set, and to make it really easy to see where what you are doing fits in with everything else. You can look at the Rakdos file to get some idea of how to fill in your part of the skeleton. You can easily post your files to a file drop i created in mediafire here . Please make sure to change the name of your file so that I can keep the original template files.

Answers to questions
Rare split cards: Find a way to collaborate with the other designer (Pm system should work just fine).


Cycle A: half the designers are doing a card for Cycle A. For simplicity's sake, follow the design of Dark Vapors and create a card that has two effects based on whether the target is the color of the spell or not. This is replacing the gatekeeper cycle


Cycle B: The other half are doing cycle B, which is currently open. Probably the easiest thing to do would be recreate a variant on the Maze Sentinel cycle, but if you want to go outside the box, that's fine too.


Watermarks: Cards that have a watermark are supposed to be aligned with your guild (naturally), but cards you have been assigned without a watermark are meant to be open design for the set, and should not necessarily align with your guild. It could be a support card, but it needs to stand in it's own rights as well.


The Cluestone Variants: They are currently all the same right now, but I think the coolest way to do this will be similar to how they were handled by Wizards. We can each come up with conditions that allow you to sacrifice them to draw a card that have something to do with the guild they are in (The Rakdos one could work if you have no cards in your hand, control a creature that can't block, or control a creature with a +1/+1 counter on it for example).


The actual line: This is just something I did to get an idea of what cards ours would be replacing. They are not meant to be strict guidelines, merely suggestions for the kind of card you are looking to create. Just keep the watermark status, color identity, and rarity of each card.


Artwork: It would be great if you could get some artwork off of deviantart yourself, but If I really need to, I can find a few pieces for you. Please include a found line linking to where you found the artwork you use as well as artist credit (helps in case I need to re crop things later).


Creature Density: You'll notice that the types of the cards has been left open. You can do what you want here, but try to stay somewhere around 50 percent creatures(in each rarity as well if possible), and don't include too many cards of any single type. Attempt to get a reasonable curve as well (don't make all your creatures 5-7 CMC or anything like that).


Your preexisting cards: I understand that you probably already made some cards before this finalized skeleton came out, but we really
need the set to fit within these paramaters. It will be easiest to start by adding your favorite designs to the skeleton and seeing what you need to do from there. You can PM if you need help fitting everything in or you really want to include a particular card that doesn't fit.

Important!

I really want to get this project rolling, please start working on your part of the set and get something up as soon as you possibly can. Basically, what I'm saying is, if you don't have something up in a week from now, I may just make your part of the set myself Stick out your tongue

Wow, thanks, you did a ton here ^.^ I'm finishing up Orzhov today (apparently the internet is void of interesting art of Thrulls...) and I'll upload that for you to...I guess, look over?

We really do need to decide on a Cycle B, because I just plain can't design one of my cards currently. Other than that, hats off to you, and thanks for keeping my dream alive as I finish up school for the term A happy smile

Looking through some of the cards that have been put out one really stood out to me, Riz Maadi Hellkite. To play on the fact that he is black as well as red I think one of the bonuses should be +1/+1 and possibly give him the shade creature type as well as dragon.

Either
Black/red mana symbol ~ gets +1/+0 until end of turn. If ~ has a +1/+1 counter he gets +1/+1 instead.
Or
Black/red mana symbol ~ gets +1/+1 until end of turn. If ~ has a +1/+1 counter he gets +2/+0 instead.

Personally I like the 2nd one more as I feel it fits with unleash better. If he is able to block he may want the extra toughness, if he can't block then he is balls to the wall for power.

I loved most of your designs.

Just so you guys know, this project is currently on indefinite hiatus, since literally all 9 other designers involved never submitted their files, even after I basically did all the formatting work for them. I might just finish this on my own, but I have several projects I'm far more interested in right now, and I just don't have that much interest in doing everyone else's work on what was supposed to be a community set.

If that doesn't help I don't know what to tell you. You can't go around looking for a certain type of image. You just have to find images that look appealing nad hold onto them until a card idea comes that will work with the card.

I have been away for quite a while but I can definitely tell you that a hefty chunk of my cards are designed and ready to be evalutated. I also did post a complete list of all cards I finished and it seemed to go by unnoticed so I think "all 9 other designers" is a bit stretching it a bit.

I took some time to think about what I want to do about this project, and here's what I came up with...

- With the exception of Rakdos, each guild is available to work on. Anyone who would like to work on a specific guild may do so.

- If you would like to complete the cards for a guild, post all the required slots in this thread. You must complete all slots for that guild, and you must do so in one post. Do not just post that you would like to do a guild, post the cards. Note also that each guild has been assigned a few cards that are not specifically alligned with their guild, but just use one of their colors. Make sure you do those cards as well.

- I have reposted below the set files I created as templates for each guild, as well as some guidelines. If you would like to complete a guild in this set, you can access those files in mediafire and either repost a file with a new name please , renders of your cards, or plain text versions of your cards in this thread. If necessary, I am capable of finding artwork to fit the cards that are submitted. My preference would be a set file, since that makes things easier for me to merge everything later.

I desided Golgari's theme was "reduce, reuse, recycle." or rather, self mill, scavange/ooze creation, and finally grave exiling.
I chose to go heavy ooze with golgari, because that felt more like "making due with the parts at hand."
Absorb is just a cool mechanic, and +x/+x seemed a bit much for layer of slime.

Edit: done a bunch of edditing at the suggestion of the card clinic... still probably needs some polishing.

Growth of the Forest: I get the idea that some tokens are not green, but this would be much more flavorful if it was "target creature gains +2/+2 until the end of the turn. If that creature is green, it also gains trample until the end of the turn." or something along those lines.
Emmara: I like her summoning skills, but I find her a little disappointing actually. I think you can make her a bit more game changer. Creatures like Rhys are awesome because they can break games at high mana, Trostani is awesome because he can gather a heck load of life for you while also populating every turn. Maybe you can twist her a bit more to make her more exiting.
Voice of Unity: really cool but I think you can make it a 4 or 5 CMC. I also find his game leaving ability a bit boring. It could be a bit more overwhelming, so that your opponent struggles if he or she destroys it.

Growth... is part of the sycle so I can't do anything about it. I could see inverting the two... but that would be odd. Ok, doing it now.

I wanted to break from the simplicity of the original card, and spread out voice of resurgences power. Also, there is a lot of background with her being a summoner and a healer... I wanted to bring those traits forward and lower her cost.

Voice of Resurgence was game breaking as it was cheap, and would rise stronger when struckdown. I really wanted to break it into two, between voice and Emmara. What I did want though were some cheap but strong creatures. What would you suggest to twist her?
Voice's leave game depends on your tokens... if you are running a good sylencia deck you should have X/X elementals to spam. Also, in editing dropped Indestructible to Stalwart. Should I make him create an X/X on leaving aswell?
