I don't know how to make a set file. If it is something done through the MSE program, I never downloaded it. I'll figure that out later, could someone explain it to me?

I like the idea of licids, it would help add some enchantments to the set. I just got to figure out where they will fit. Whether they will be put into the card slots already set aside for double faced cards, or add to the dfc slots, or if they will appear all at the same rarity. Does anyone else have an oppinion on the subject of licids?

Punisher cards prove to have too many problems associated with them, I'll remove them as well make all the other fixes when I have more time.

You know the .mse file that is your set? That is your set file. Upload it to Mediafire or something, then share the link.

Creature/Aura DFCs are neat, but I don't like the flavor of licids (weird looking parasites). Perhaps go along the flavor of Griffin Guide (spiritual guardian)?

Assuming you have the MSE program itself, you simply just share the .mse-set file with us (by uploading it somewhere such as Mediafire).

I like the sound of Creature into Aura DFC. I don't think there's any problem with licids, although we could shape up their flavour some.

What about planeswalkers? If they in this set I think that would be a reasonable exception to the No multicolor rule. Even If the only planeswalkers in the set are mono-colored I still think it's a good idea to include them.

Computer troubles prevent me from properly updating the front page. But I've got time for a quick comment.
I don't have the Mse program, something I can take care of when my computer doesn't have problems.
I don't think we should go with the subtype licid. I think we should introduce new flavor other than something parasitic. I'm also think two common, two uncommon, and one rare in different colors and taking places in the monocolored slots.
Glitch you called me out on planeswalkers, I was intentionally avoiding them. I wanted the sets Commons and uncommons fleshed out before we get side tracked on such a tall order. I'm considering many possibilities as far as planeswalkers including monocolored, multicolored, or even something like the dfc legends. But again, lets hold off on planeswalker ideas for now.
Unfortunately armed//dangerous is one of the split spells of ravnica now. Fortunately we didn't lose any others. Here are a few more split spell name ideas:
Buy//sell
Observe//report
Cut//paste
Fight//flight
Sight//sound
Reap//sow

Perhaps it would be easier to ignore those split spell suggestions with the names already taken. I'd think the first 3 suggestions would be alright.

The thing to remember about Licids was that they could turn back; even if you don't use the type, you should keep that mechanic, as it separates them from Soul Seizer/ Ghastly Haunting.

Given there hasn't been many updates recently, perhaps now would be a good time to start the double faced creatures at Colorless mana symbol and Blue mana symbol. Here are some tips I believe should help:
Start by designing one creature in one color
When done pick another color and design another creature that is either mechanically or flavorfully the opposite
Remember that the creatures are alternate realities of one another, in most cases they should share the same race but not the same class
Ex. One side could be a Green mana symbol ogre shaman while the other could be Red mana symbol ogre barbarian
Rarely though they can appear as different races
Ex. One side could be a Black mana symbol zombie and the other a Blue mana symbol spirit, this way you can represent the same character in different forms

Keep in mind these creatures do not transform and each side has a mana cost. Let me know if there is any further confusion on this unconventional form of double faced creatures.

Lovely idea! How about if we have two cycles - the common cycle could be allied colors (White mana symbol/Blue mana symbol, Blue mana symbol/Black mana symbol, Black mana symbol/Red mana symbol, Red mana symbol/Green mana symbol, Green mana symbol/White mana symbol) and the uncommon cycle enemy colors (White mana symbol/Black mana symbol, Blue mana symbol/Red mana symbol, Black mana symbol/Green mana symbol, Red mana symbol/White mana symbol, Green mana symbol/Blue mana symbol). That way, all color combinations are represented on a card somewhere. (:

Ideas for the cycle:

Inspiring Hieromancer 2 mana symbolWhite mana symbol
Creature - Kithkin Cleric Common
Whenever Inspiring Hieromancer attacks, untap target creature.

//
Inquiring Cryomancer 2 mana symbolBlue mana symbol

Thank you for your contribution Inanimate. As a reminder there ten double faced slots in Colorless mana symbol and Blue mana symbol, a full cycle in both rarities. To differentiate the two lets keep the Commons with equal costs and uncommonest with differing costs:

~ goblin Red mana symbol
Creature - goblin warrior Colorless mana symbol
Haste

//
~ goblin White mana symbol
Creature - goblin soldier Colorless mana symbol
First strike

~ ogre 4 mana symbolRed mana symbol
Creature - ogre berserker Blue mana symbol
When ~ enters the battlefield destroy target land.
3/3
//
~ ogre 3 mana symbolGreen mana symbol
Creature - ogre shaman Blue mana symbol
When ~ enters the battlefield search your library for a basic land and put it onto the battlefield tapped, shuffle your library.

Ah, I didn't know there was a full cycle at both common and uncommon. Here are some ideas for the enemy color cycle at common:

Devout of [Deity] 2 mana symbolWhite mana symbol
Creature - Human Cleric Common
At the beginning of your upkeep, you may gain 1 life for each opponent.
1/3
//
Cultist of [Deity] 2 mana symbolBlack mana symbol
Creature - Zombie Cleric Common
At the beginning of your upkeep, each opponent loses 1 life.
3/1

Oppressor Agent 2 mana symbolBlue mana symbol
Creature - Human Rogue Common
At the beginning of combat on each of your opponent's turns, you may have target creature get -2/-0 until end of turn.
0/2
With his detailed knowledge of the side streets of [City] he'd acquired through his lifetime on the streets, Akazar was a viable asset to the Empire's inquisition - and he sold his knowledge at a high price.
//
Firebrand Revolutionary 2 mana symbolRed mana symbol
Creature - Human Rebel Common
At the beginning of combat on your turn, you may have target creature get +2/+0 until end of turn.
1/1
Akazar had grown up on the streets of [City], and they would not be taken by the Empire as long as he lived. This was his city - his home - his people. He would never betray them.

Blighted Shade 2 mana symbolBlack mana symbol
Creature - Shade Common
Black mana symbol: Blighted Shade gets +1/+1 until end of turn.
1/2
An elderwood soul whose land has been corrupted by the unstoppable march of man, the shades of [Location] have had their forms twisted and their hearts mangled into mindless monstrosity.
//
Blessed Scion 2 mana symbolGreen mana symbol
Creature - Elemental Common
1 mana symbolGreen mana symbol: Blessed Scion gets +3/+3 until end of turn. Activate this ability only once each turn.
1/2
The elderwood souls of [Location] forged a pact millenia ago, to forever protect the land that man and elemental alike share and enjoy.

[Location] Guide 3 mana symbolGreen mana symbol
Creature - Dryad Common
When [Location] Guide enters the battlefield, put a basic land card from your hand onto the battlefield.
2/2
The woods of [Location] are the home of the helpful and kind dryads, who seek to live in unity with all other races, and guide them to the path of harmony they have waked for centuries.
//
[Location] Trickster 3 mana symbolBlue mana symbol
Creature - Faerie Common
Flying
When [Location] Trickster enters the battlefield, return target nonland permanent to its owner's hand.
1/1
The faeries of [Location] are mischievous, unable to understand right and wrong - sending a person lost into the wastes might be funny for them, but for the person who soon wastes away in the wilds, not so much.

And an idea I had for the uncommon cycle while I was struggling with the U/R common:

Cloudshape 3 mana symbolBlue mana symbolBlue mana symbol
Creature - Elemental Uncommon
Flying
Blue mana symbol: Cloudshape gets +1/-1 until end of turn.
Blue mana symbol: Cloudshape gets -1/+1 until end of turn.

Stormshrieker 3 mana symbolRed mana symbolRed mana symbol
Creature - Elemental Uncommon
Haste
Red mana symbol: Stormshrieker gets +1/-1 until end of turn.
Red mana symbol: Stormshrieker gets -1/+1 until end of turn.

Well... frankly I'm preoccupied to keep regular tabs, but since I have some time I got two things to bring to the table. There are a number of ideas that could go into this set but not nearly enough room in this set, should we expand the set size? Second, no set is complete without its vanilla creatures, it's not very exciting but it's necessary. Are their any ideas for some that would fit into this set? It's important that a creature without abilities is well represented by its flavor. I imagine some of the double faced creatures could be vanilla.

Why not have a 'dual-land'?

EG: Island//Mountain

The idea is that there is no fuse ability, so you either tap it for one, or the other.

Here's the mock up:

@Cypher: The problem with that is, is it an Island Mountain, an Island, or a Mountain? Is it a basic land? Volcanic Island is pretty much that land at the moment, without the confusion.

Thu, 2013-10-10 12:15
Cypher

Fixed.

These "Gemini-Lands" are both, and neither. They change their form/properties in response to an inhabitant, effect or 'walker. A non-Basic Land, but I see no reason why you couldn't have four Shifting Island//Shifting Mountain an four Shifting Island//Shifting Forest. If only there was a template for dual-side lands, that would be more elegant design wise, a land with 0 mana symbol transform.

For now I am making do Winking smiley

There's already a Red mana symbol cycle of double-faced lands like this mentioned in the original post. Only they will not have basic land types, and will not transform (by extension none of the double faced cards in this set will transform). The only reason I haven't completed the cycle is because I want to tie their flavor to the five double face legends in the set which are not complete.

Regarding set size: Keep a normal set size. Not all of these ideas will withstand the test of playtesting, and we can just pick the best of the best ideas if necessary.
Regarding vanillas: Double-faced vanillas sound good. Perhaps the same mana cost on both sides, that way there's even less information to track?
