It's still not ideal. Maybe somebody can come up with a better idea...

I think the official name of the set should be "Lights" in honor of the "new phyrexia / mirrodin pure" code name.

"Lights of Mirrodin"? I thought we were going with "Mirrodin's Migration".

I was not thinking "Lights of Mirrodin" I was just thinking "Lights" but this is your set so whatever name you prefer I personally think "Lights of Mirrodin" sounds better. The choice is yours of course

Here is a list of what we have so far
------------------------------------------------------------
Lotus Circle
Artifact
Circle (When you cast this card, you may discard any number of cards from your hand, if you do. Copy it.)
When ~ enters the battlefield, each other player may put a copy of ~ onto their battlefield tapped.
Sacrifice Lotus Circle: Add one mana of any color to your mana pool.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Neurok Ambassador
Creature - Mirran Ambassador
Diplomacy (when Neurok Ambassador enters the battlefield you gain control of target creature owned by target player and target player gains control of target creature you control.)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hostage Exchange
Sorcery
Gain control of target creature. That creature's contoller gains control of a creature you control of his or her choice (this makes it seem more like an actual exchange of hostages, while diplomacy allows you to choose what creature your opponent gets)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Vouchsafe For Peace 2
Exchange hostages with target player (You gain control of a creature target player controls and target player gains control of a creature you control).
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Vouchsafe For Peace
Sorcery
Exchange control of two target creatures. Put a hostage counter on both of them.
(A creature can't attack as long as it has a hostage counter.)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kill the Hostages
Sorcery
Destroy all creatures with hostage counters on them.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Vulshok Metalsmith
Creature - human smith
assemble a 1/2 Myr Contraption. Place a charge counter on Vulshok Metalsmith.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Uranium Goblins 1/2 Creature- Goblin Mutant

Radiate 2 (This creature gets +X/+X until end of turn, where X is the number of radiation counters on it. At the beginning of the next end step, take 2 radiation counters off this creature.)

: Put one radiation counter on Uranium Imp. Activate this ability once per turn and during your turn only. ===========================================================================================================================

My idea is that creatures with Radiate can give themselves or other creatures with Radiate more radiation counters and get buffed up.
Another card that interacts with the Radiate keyword:

=========================================================================================================================
Pollute Enchant land

At the beginning of enchanted land’s controller’s upkeep, put a radiation counter on all of their creatures if they don’t pay . If any of enchanted land’s controller’s creatures have 3 or more radiation counters on them, they must destroy that creature.

If enchanted land’s controller controls a creature with Radiate, replace “3” with “7”.
===========================================================================================================================

Phyretic Gaurdian
Creature--Horror Soldier
Infect

Radiate 2 (Whenever an artifact is put on this creature put 2 radiation counter on this creature. This creature gets +X/+X, where X is the number of radiation counters on it. At the beginning of the next end step, remove 2 radiation counters from this creature.)

Whenever an artifact is put into a graveyard target opponent gains 1 life. 1/1
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Darksteel Mantle 1 mana symbol Artifact Mana for MTG Extra Artifact Mana for MTG Extra

Enchanted permanent is indestructible and if it would be put into a graveyard from anywhere you may return it to its owners hand.

Artifact creature--Constuct ( )
( can be paid by tapping an untapped artifact you control)
5/5
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Urabrask's Envoy
Artifact Creature--Horror

Urabrask's Envoy has infect as long as you control a praetor
2/2

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mutagenic Talon
Artifact--Equipment
Equip
Equipped creature has Radiate 2 (Whenever an artifact is put into a graveyard equipped creature gets +2/+2.)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Schematic Myr
Artifact Creature - Myr Schematic
Schematic - Assembles a 1/1 colourles Myr contraption creature.
1/1
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Schematic Powerstone
Artifact - Schematic
, Sacrifice Schematic Powerstone: Add to your mana pool.
Schematic - Assembles a contraption with ", Sacrifice this contraption: Add to your mana pool."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Most of the cards are defined but not the mana costs or the colors also we should begin looking for artork for the set

I think the problem with the usual approach (assembling a contraption simply puts a contraption token onto the battlefield) is to explain why "put an artifact token on the battlefield" is now sometimes re-worded as "assemble a contraption".
That is to say, why does it use the word "assemble" at all and doesn't just say "put a contraption artifact token onto the battlefield".

Assembling sounds like putting several already existing things together somehow. (I'm not an English native speaker though, so my intuitions may be wrong.)

Yes very true maybe to assemble you pair artifacts together as a single artifact with one ability. Like soulbond except with limitations. (Meaning you can only assemble with certain artifacts that work with each other.)

Also could you upload a skeleton somewhere. I think we have enough cards to start the basic set

Huh, then how about artifact creature obtaining ability of Contraption through Assembling?

I think I've seen an attempt somewhere in this forum to turn Contraptions into something similar to Equipments, only for Artifacts instead of Creatures. Also an idea I liked.

maybe have this as an alternate ability

Metalfuse X -- You may pair this artifact with X other artifacts when either enters the battlefield. As long as CARDNAME is paired with another artifact CARDNAME has <EFFECT>

Yeah something along those lines or perhaps do something like the empire relics from m12
Example is Crown of empires.

I still want to do this set. Anybody else?

[edit] Also, I just had another wicked idea for a story twist. What if the Mirrans, after arriving at Alara, discover that Esper's Etherium is somehow related to Phyrexia's glistening oil? They work somewhat similar, and the origins of Etherium are more or less shrouded in mystery. So what if Phyrexian oil somehow reached Alara long ago, lay dormant there and then was discovered and somehow pacified by Crucius by alloying it with other materials after the shards split? And now that the shards have reunited, maybe Etherium slowly begins to regain more of its old properties...

Pretty cool idea. I'd be interested, and willing to help a bit.

That'd be an awesome plot twist, but would it become too similar to Scars? With the Phyrexians 'invading' Alara?

As for Contraptions and such, what about this:

Schematic - This card assembles a <contraption>.

Example
Schematic Myr 2 mana symbol
Artifact Creature - Myr Schematic Colorless mana symbol
Schematic - This card assembles a 1/1 colorless artifact Myr Contraption creature.
1/1

Assemble <number> (To assemble, tap a schematic you control and sacrifice <number> contraptions. Then put a contraption assembled by the tapped schematic onto the battlefield.)

Example
Goblin Rigger 2 mana symbolRed mana symbol
Creature - Goblin Rigger Colorless mana symbol
Assemble 2 (To assemble, tap a schematic you control and sacrifice 2 contraptions. Then put a contraption assembled by the tapped schematic onto the battlefield.)
2/2

This version of assemble is a bit lengthy, but that can be fixed, and it does actually 'assemble' the contraption, though it does cause a bit of card disadvantage...

I doubt it would turn out like Mirrodin with Esper. In Mirrodin, the phyrexian oil was able to grow unidentified for a long time, and it caught the Mirrans completely unprepared. In Alara, Etherium has infected only one of the shards, and it's still in the form of an alloy that suppresses the oil's more aggressive characteristics. Also, the Mirran refugees already know what they're dealing with and could probably identify the problem quickly. With the Mirran refugees and the Esperites working together, a solution might be found before open conflict breaks out. Also, there are still the other shards, and at least Bant would sure join in if there was a conflict breaking out, especially since Elspeth is still allied with Bant. Also, the Phyrexians from Mirrodin can't just join in the conflict unless Bolas somehow brings them to Alara, which I doubt.

@Magus of Etherium: Do you realize that even if Cascade flipps over an artifact, that spell will resolve before your Magus has entered the battlefield (so you draw no cards)? Because it looks like you thought it would..

If we use Mercadia, the Mirrans that go there might try to recover and repair Ramos, Urza's old Dragon Engine, in order to use it as a weapon against Phyrexia.

[edit] Since this Community Project is apparently dead, I would like to continue this on my own for now. But I'd like to know if I may use the cards you have already posted here. I'll mention you, of course.
