Full art with clear boxes

Sorry for the total noob question. Brand new to MSE. I'm looking for and can't find a template that has a full art background but with transparent card name and text boxes. Couldn't you just use GIMP or something to make the boxes semi-transparent like that?

I think what stopped me from adding this capability when I worked in similar templates was the pain of masking the pt-box so it didn't look weird on top of the frame. It comes out ugly if you're not careful, since the regular modern magic pt-box isn't a png, but a jpg.
