Starting with you, each player chooses a nonland permanent without a wander counter on it and puts a wander counter on it. Then that player gains control of that permanent. Repeat this process until all nonland permanents have wander counters on them.
"When fighting wars in winter, something is bound to go wrong."

This card's interaction with a legendary creature may not be too obvious, but it is meant to work with symmetrical effects like Kami of the Crescent Moon allowing you to steal some of your opponents permanents while still gaining bonuses from your own.

@Flo00: Just updated the card link so that you are aware Kami is in Conspiracy: Take the Crown.

@marioware2: Sorry. Daij usually posts that he added the last few limits to the list. I edited it to correctness.

@bioplay: It can be any legendary card.

@Nhoj2307: The last sentence doesnt work like you want it to. First, you don't activate the ability because its a triggered ability. Second, if the Bear reanimates and goes to the graveyard again, it doesn't know anything from its last time in the graveyard.
Maybe just make it "... from your Graveyard the first time this turn ..." or something like that.

@bioplay: You can make the trigger "At the beginning of each opponent's untap step ..." since the abilities will go on the stap after the creatures untap (same thing as draw step or combat damage step)
But its really strange, because usually during untap no one can do anything. You could maybe make it an upkeep trigger that coutns the number of permanents that were tapped when the upkeep began?

@Flo00: I chose to word it the way that I did because, for one, I figured anything that happens "at the beginning of the untap step" happens before things untap (I could be very wrong, that's just a guess), and I only wanted the ability to count things that had been frost-tapped (in particular by Geist's ability), otherwise an opponent can just tap out on their turn, and then gain control of everything you have. Though now I think it, you're right that it could've been an upkeep trigger (it seems I spaced that upkeep comes after untap at the time). The goal was to cause a drawback with his activated ability. Repeatable, hard-to-counter frost tapping for Blue mana symbolBlue mana symbol is incredibly powerful, so I figured I needed a damn big drawback. I think I'll keep the timing of the ability where it is, since it's slightly more intuitive into the penalties of the card and it has the same effect for the most part. Regardless of all that, I was looking more with help on the "Tapped permanents can't meld" ability, since, as said before, permanents that meld are exiled first, and then they meld, so I think they aren't in a state of tapped or untapped when they meld, so I don't think Geist affects them. The only solution I can think of off the top of my head is, "Tapped permanents can't transform and permanents can't meld," just a general ban on melding, which isn't quite what I was going for.

Judging is up:
@all: Except for the name and snow type (and Senor Guacamole's entry) I don't see much snow an any of the entries. But since it's a really mean combination of limits, I'm not going to be a harsh judge about that.

Mort
A Thieve's Auction for nonlands. A typical red card, probably a little too cheap. If you play this with only lands on the field, you win a lot of stuff for sure (which I really like about the card).
The card should remove the wander counters when it's done, else a second one won't do much at all and the conters lie around uselessly. Maybe it can even do without the counters and it only lest players choose permanents not chosen before?
digiman619
This is a weid but totally fun card. I like it. The issue with cards like that is that they should forbid your opponent to play the cards at the same time you can (see Shaman's Trance), else it can lead to weird timing issues ("I cast a creature from your graveyard" - "In response I cast an instant from my graveyard before you get the cahnce to do so" - "In response I cast another instant from your graveyard before you get the chance of playing it before me." ...).
Fermat
Nice card with a good balance of upsides and downsides.
Yoshi
It's such a simple and innoscent looking effect, yet it is so effective and can easily be missused. I'd love to put a card like that into a deck with a ton of flicker effects.
Nhoj2307
The card sounds fun. But as far as I can see, there are only nine cards (plus three if you have something like Conspiracy) in all of Magic that are able to trigger this, which makes it kind of a weird condition. I guess it would work in a set with creatures that have retrace.
thehuw
Nice card. Good flavour, except that freezing isn't really Black mana symbolGreen mana symbol in my opinion.
bioplay
Overall I think its fun what the card does, but the wording still hurts the rules freak in me. I even found the appropriate rule:
from the comprehensive rules
502.3. No player receives priority during the untap step, so no spells can be cast or resolve and no
abilities can be activated or resolve. Any ability that triggers during this step will be held until the
next time a player would receive priority, which is usually during the upkeep step. (See rule 503,
“Upkeep Step.”)
My suggestion was to check the cards that didn't untap (meaning they are tapped at the beginning of the upkeep) that wouldn't count cards that become tapped during the upkeep.
On the meld thing: You could make some weird backtracking (e.g. "Cards can't meld if they left the bettlefield tapped." (I don't think that ability would really work.)).
DoomSp0rk
This is definitely a fun crazy card. Choosing whether your opponent draws randomly from their graveyard or from their library sure is powerful. This might even be too cheap. If you manage to get it on turn 3, this can toatally screw every opponent for the rest of the game.
I don't know why I should ever not activate the last ability on my turn and give an opponent the opportunity to do so.
Senor Guacamole
It's a fair card. Sure makes an interesting commander. I see you concentrated more on LIMIT#32 and less on LIMIT#157, seeing how hard the limits are, its ok. (My best guesses for 157 are Sigarda, Heron's Grace and Tamiyo's Journal because thy give you staff to turn into 5/5s.)
guhkun
If this works for Selvala, then everyone gets the card draw trigger. Or at least everyone with access to red mana. It's weird in a fun way to make an ability available for everyone but restrict it with red mana.

podium
First place goes to thehuw. It's a good card with fitting flavour.
Second place goes to Fermat for the same reasons.
I'm too lazy right now to announce a third place, sorry guys

Yeah, I tried it, and it flopped. Personally, I hated this challenge, mainly because of Limit #32. I can't stand that Limit because the vast majority of things in Magic that involve ice/snow are either Blue mana symbol and frost-tap, or are in the Ice Age block, which, by flavor, limits design space immensely. I think my card was just trying to do too many things at once--personally, I think the third ability ruined it. I would have just struck that one and upped the cost and/or added a Tap symbol to Geist's activated ability. I was trying to convey that the Winter Wind took no sides, but, as is, it barely managed to avoid the stapled- (or stitched- Winking smiley) together look. Barely. Nevertheless, a challenge is a challenge, so congrats to our winner.

Judging
Mort, with Ravenous Hydra
An interesting interpretation of the conventional X-scale Hydra, though I can't see myself ever paying the stampede cost. Perhaps a tad weak for a rare, too, since green can get bigger, badder creatures than this for almost any value of X.

marioware2, with Mow Down
I like blitz a lot - "Alpha Strikes: The Mechanic" is a solid concept that encourages aggression, which is always a perk, though I think it could be tweaked to only count creatures capable of attacking so that one stray Arrest or Claustrophobia can't shut the whole keyword down.

Yoshi, with Solarbeam Sea Bream
Wow, this card's weird! I think it could bear to be cheaper, or have a bit more poke, since four mana for a 2/2 flyer at uncommon strikes me as a little steep and the ability is situational enough that it doesn't add all that much more value.

Flo00, with Escarotic Ogre
Corrode's a neat mechanic, and this is a pretty good card, though again it could afford to be stronger for that cost, especially at uncommon. The ability is a bit difficult to evaluate but looks mostly fine.

Senor Guacamole, with Goliath Shade
Cursed is a really bad mechanic. I don't want to come across as too blunt, but it's pure drawback, and in this case it's on a creature that isn't even all that pushed without it. (The pump ability is weaker than the traditional Shade ability since you have to pay for it all at once.)

DoomSp0rk, with Odric, Forsaken by Avacyn
I know you enjoy pushing the boundaries of what mechanics can do (as with your alt-interpretations of Vehicles), but this is such a dramatic change to the parameters of meld that I think it really needs a new keyword, especially since, as-is, it's questionable whether this meets Limit #002. This card's color identity is also a bit of a mess - why's the ability on the front side Black mana symbolGreen mana symbolWhite mana symbol but the one on the back only Black mana symbolGreen mana symbol?

Nhoj2307, with Constable Vosk
The second ability needs to have your opponents reveal their hands for rules reasons, but otherwise I like this, even if inspect feels kinda weak when I can just use Telepathy to have my opponents play open-handed all the time.

Mosgon, with Red Mist Demon
Burst Cocoon is way, way too narrow to be a keyword - this'd be much better handled with an unmorph trigger, though that wouldn't fit the challenge. Hexproof is also out of color for red.

Fermat, with Yore Elemental
Familiar is a pretty good mechanic, though it'd be intensely underwhelming on a rare in Limited (this'd be a powerhouse in Constructed, I reckon). I am a little iffy on whether this meets Limit #123, since that specifies an X mana symbol, but I'll allow it.

bioplay, with Charging Standard Bearer
I love this ability, and keywording it makes a lot of sense. Not much else to say about this card, except that, with the ability to hand out the keyword that easily, I'm not sure it should be uncommon.

Final Verdict
Victory goes to Fermat, with runners-up Nhoj2307 and bioplay in that order and an honorable mention for Flo00.

Oh! So sorry. I read the challenge on my phone and didn't notice it was X mana symbol, not X. Thanks for the win despite that oversight, thehuw.

For our next set of limits...

LIMIT #25: Don't bust this one: your card's a mythic!
LIMIT #42: Rock'em, sock'em, artifact creatures!
LIMIT #176: I can't even! Your card features an odd number of odd numbers. (Thanks, Fermat!)

Pretty simple set we have this week. A happy smile

@fluffy: That's three 7s and one 1, which makes four odd numbers, right?

Do numbers and words both count? (i.e., "lose 3 life and draw three cards"?) Also are we forbidden from using even numbers?

@thehuw: Woo for last minute entry getting 3rd! I could not think of a keyword, and I thought of skulk, and I was like, "Hey, there's a reverse to that ability. Why hasn't that been keyworded?" It appears maybe the skulk ability has been used more often, but possibly only because of the advent of the keyword. I almost wonder if Wizards just can't think of a word for it--took me forever to come up with "savage" and it still wasn't exactly what I wanted. "Intimidate" and "menace" had already been taken. Thought about "Threat" or "Threaten" or something, but the ability had mostly been used on medium-sized green creatures, and they didn't feel like they'd be threatening any nonplayers--just kind of walking through everything. Ended up going with "savage" because of the connection to green--though I noticed a third of the cards with that ability have "Howl" in their name... Besides all that, I felt the card wasn't too powerful because of the X mana symbolX mana symbol--it costs 2 mana symbolGreen mana symbol just to grant the ability to one creature. The more mana you spend, the more worth it it becomes, so I'm not really sure. Maybe an increased cost on the ability? Or a Tap symbol? I didn't want that, cuz I did want to grant it to itself...

@digiman: Pretty sure both numbers and words count. And I think you can use even numbers--it just says it has an odd number of odd numbers. So a 5/6 for 5 mana symbolGreen mana symbol is would be fine because it has 5 power, 5 mana symbol, and one Green mana symbol, making three odd numbers. On that note...

@fluffy: If you wanted to, you could argue that your card does have an odd number of odd numbers, given that your card has both a 7 mana symbol in its cost and a total CMC of 7. So that's four 7s and a 1, making five odd numbers.

Of course, Fermat hasn't given a specific, concrete rule as to what counts, so that's for him to decide. I'm just stating what it looks like to me.

Both numerals and words count. To make this easier, "a" doesn't count as a "one," e.g. "a creature" doesn't count as one one. "Whenever exactly one creature is attacking," however, counts. You can still use even numbers, say have a 6-CMC mythic artifact creature with P/T of 4/4 that draws you three cards when it enters the battlefield.

The third ability is a bit of a bend, but it's certainly something I could see happening in New Phyrexia, where each color had a bit of black in it.
