This game is originally from MTGSalvation's forums under the title "Work That Name" and I personally think it is really fun and we could really get it going on here. The rules are simple:

Poster A - Makes up a name.
Poster B - Makes a card with that name and comes up with a new name. However, we will add a little MSE Forum twist. Seeing as we all want to improve our card creation skills, you must critique the last post A'LA "The Challenge Game".
REPEAT B AD INFINITUM

An example for those of you with difficulty grasping the concept. Which I know there will be at least one.

quan·tum

n. pl. quan·ta (-t)
1. A quantity or amount.
2. A specified portion.
3. Something that can be counted or measured.
a. The smallest amount of a physical quantity that can exist independently, especially a discrete quantity of electromagnetic radiation.
b. This amount of energy regarded as a unit.

2. To move or transfer from one place or position to another.
3. To alter (position or place).
1. To change position, direction, place, or form.

Quantum Shift: 5/10. Wonderful concept, poor execution. Admittedly, it was a really tough concept to pull together, and I give you major props for trying! @Balaam - I know Periphery might be overpowered (I don't think so myself, but that's just me - its a sorcery, so it's pretty much useless). Anyways, I think, that when you rate a card, you shouldn't give it a 0/10 just because its overpowered, but try to look at the originality and design too - and how well it fits the name. I don't think it says that. Sure the wording is a bit vague, but I think it says "Nothing can happen to you this turn" (which would be your turn). I'd like to hear how you're suppose to win the game when they can still block (it is a sorcery after all).

Technically, a round is pretty much 1 turn for each player. So, if you have 5 players, a round encompasses your turn and the next turn of each of the next players, until it cycles back to you again.

Also, how did it jump from one round to the rest of the game? Forget the fact that it is sorcery speed, only affects one round, and requires a dedicated mana base. I'm thinking something like a Fog + Silence for the caster only for three mana of a single color is fair.

Besides, I think the mechanic fits the name, and as a Vorthos, I can respect that, even if I don't like the card.

Balaam is right I can't believe I completely did not comment on his card.
I deeply and publicly apologize to Balaam for overlooking this. It was not a slight or mean action against your post.
Just my ADD acting up.

To the card-
10 mana, which means you must have played at least 10 rounds more likely 15 rounds.
AT first look this card is insainly powerful. Stop all reality and do it over, creating a divergent timeline. Star Trek here we come.
Hmmm, but it is a fair card. Both players get to shuffle and replay. It does not prohibit one player over another or favor the player of the card. Everything gets restarted.
yes, you could play this card just before you get taken out.
But I think this is a fair card so 7/10.

Now on Periphery, as I added [for this round you are safe from attack, but you are able to attack anyone].
Which means this round only.
And is in the text of the card "For the current round". Which means for this round only. If there are 2 players, this means you go and then they go and the card goes away. This is not permanent. It's a sorcery, so it disappears after it takes effect.

Sohel, according to the 3 minuets of research I did I believe that Gandalf was given Narya.
*****************
Narya (Fire);
also known as the Ring of Fire or the Red Ring, and by one obscure reference as the Kindler
[The Letters of J.R.R. Tolkien#301].

But after a respite, Sauron's spirit appeared again in the Third Age and threatened the free people in Middle-earth. Around the year 1000 Third Age the Istari, or Wizards, came to Middle-earth to help in the struggle against Sauron. Last to come was Gandalf and Círdan was moved to turn Narya over to Gandalf as he saw that it would be put to better use:

"Take now this Ring, he said; for thy labours and thy cares will be heavy, but in all it will support thee and defend thee from weariness. For this is the Ring of Fire, and herewith, maybe, thous shalt rekindle hearts to the valour of old in a world that grows chill."
[The Silmarillion]

So at the time of the story of Lord of the Rings, the Three Elven Rings were in the hands of the Wise; Gandalf, Elrond, and Galadriel, the Nine Sauron held, as well as four of the Seven (the other three were consumed by dragons), and the One was in the hands of Frodo the Hobbit.
****************

Now before I forget, let's hit that baby one more time.

Veil of Maya, very nicely done, Sohel
It appears, does it's thing and "moves out with a quickness". Also doing a little looking around finds that green is SHROUD's main color followed by blue then white. So the casting cost works out nicely.

Um so didn't know what challenge to take so I guess i'll take a stab at both:

Everlasting Flame 1 mana symbolRed mana symbolRed mana symbolRed mana symbol
Enchantment Blue mana symbol
Each turn sacrifice a creature, ~ deals X damage to target player, where X is power of sacrificed creature. Otherwise lose 2 life

Stairway to Heaven 1 mana symbolWhite mana symbol
Enchantment Red mana symbol(again lol)
Cumulative Upkeep 1 mana symbol
Each turn place an omen counter on ~
When ~ has 10 omen counters sacrifice it, you win the game.

Next: Balrog

Everlasting Flame - Nice. Bit of a twist on what I was thinking, but great design regardless. I like the "drawbacks". 9/10

Stairway to Heaven - Half expected a musical reference of flavor text, but nice anyways. 8/10

Balrog 3 mana symbolRed mana symbolRed mana symbol
Creature - Elemental Uncommon
First Strike
Red mana symbol: ~ gains +2/+0 until the end of the turn.
Whenever ~ is sent to the graveyard from the battlefield, it deals damage to target creature or planeswalker equal to it's power.
3/4

I figured you meant the Lord of the Rings Balrog. Now, let's get away from Lord of the Rings. Find a Legendary Pokemon, and make it a Legendary Creature.

Sohel simply reporting here.
@Omega10: You must rate the previous entry.
Everlasting Flame: 9.999999999/10
Fits the challenge and deals damage for a cost. Very balanced. The only thing that prevented it for getting that 0.000000001 is it's wording.
Stairway to Heaven: 9.999999999/10
Difficult to mantain, an excellent game-winner. But, same as above, a couple of wording issues.

Balrog 4 mana symbolRed mana symbolBlack mana symbol
Creature - Maiar Elemental Rare
Deathtouch, trample, haste
Tap symbol, Pay 2 life: Balrog deals 1 damage to target creature or player.
Black/red mana symbol: Balrog gets +1/+1 until end of turn.
4/4

I'll add flavor text in a while.
Edit: Ninja'd. By the same person as before. Nerameshu, what have I done?

Edit: Whoops! Forgot the next one.
Make a Silmaril. There are three of them, and they are the key elements of Tolkien's The Silmarilion.

Indeed that is the Balrog I speak of, but anyways on to Pokemon. I'll take a stab at Kyurem from the newest gen:

Kyurem, Ice Dragon 3 mana symbolBlue mana symbolRed mana symbolBlue/red mana symbol
Ledgendary Creature-Dragon Elemental
Flying, Vigilence
When ~ comes into play tap opponents non-land permanents, they don't untap on his next untap phase
Blue mana symbolBlue/red mana symbol:Tap target permanent
Red mana symbolBlue/red mana symbol:Untap target permanent
5/5

While were using well know games/media take a yugioh card and convert it to magic

0mega10, you forgot again to rate the previous card! A happy smile
Also, this is the Name Game, not the challenge game, so I think that 0mega10's request should be changed.

Actually, Eldmor, I take responsibility for that one. I made a mistake in my last post. I say let Omega's post count. I'll take this last challenge, and I'll post a new one, with a name. Forgive me, everybody.

Dark Magician 3 mana symbolBlue mana symbolBlue mana symbol

My nephew plays Yu-Gi-Oh and I happen to have watched a little of the show, so I just barely know whom the Dark Magician is. I played a couple hands so Sohel, kinda.
I go for Galactic Empires and RAGE. I played Magic back in 4th Edition, Fallen Empires and Ice Age, but not since.

So now to the card.
I see several cards with a comparable cost with comparable abilities. Althought "DARK" leads me to believe BLACK. So a 9/10, I can picture this as a card.
---------------------

Razgha, Goblin Overlord 5 mana symbol Red mana symbolRed mana symbol
Planeswalker - Razgha Rare
+2: Target goblin gains Trample
-1: Search your library for a creature-goblin with converted mana cost of three or less, then shuffle your library and put the creature-goblin onto the battlefield.
-5: Remove any non-artifact permanent from the game
6

I sure hope I did that right.
