Hello everyone,
I m using MSE to build a complet set.

My set is done, but I don't know how to print correctly these cards.

For now, I go on :
File -> Print
Then I use PDFCreator.

I would like to have all cards on a PDF file (A4 format) ... but when I print my PDF, cards are too small.

How do you print your cards ?
(I think that PDFCreator is adding merges, but i'm not sure about that...and their is no option about that)

What do you think ?

Last question, is that possible on MSE to get cards with square corners (like International Edition) ?

Thanks for your help.

Hello,
I red the post of planktheory "Printing with MSE" :
http://magicseteditor.sourceforge.net/node/4777

I don't know anything about the two A4 format. As fas as I know, A4 is an universal format A sad 'frowny'

For printing I also try to export all cards imagse and then paste then on Word, but cards size and quality are changing.

I would like to send my global set to a professional printer, but first I need to make sure to get the correct MTG card size A sad 'frowny'

Tks for your help.

MSE is designed to print on Legal. It's a bit of a pain for anyone outside America since it isn't readily available. I did try to add it to the wish list for the next version, not sure what the status of that is.

hooliganj suggested printing landscape on A4. I suspect it's a matter of trial and error.

Are the cards the correct size when you view them in a PDF viewer, before you print?

If so, then the shrinking occurs because MSE ignores page margins while printing, and your PDF printing program is reducing the size of the page to compensate. The MSE issue is already reported for fixing.

In the meantime, you should be able to tell your printing program to stop correcting for margins. I know that for both Adobe and Foxit, it's just a matter of de-selecting an option when you are about to print.

Well hooliganj, thanks for you respond.
I tried to print A4 with Landscape option, but the size is the same.

Does MSE can export in PDF format directly ?

What I do now is print then I use PDF creator to save the printing format in PDF.
Is that correct to do that ? Or am I wrong ?

Then I tried also to find an margin option, but I didn't find it.
I will try with Foxit....

i downloaded Foxit, and I think it's working, I de-selected the margin option, but the cards qualities are very poor. The highest resolution is 300dpi and obviously it's too small for printing.

I will try an other software A sad 'frowny'

The templates for Magic only render at 150 dpi, so printing at higher quality isn't really necessary.

I'll spell this out here, since it isn't featured prominently on the site - MSE is not a tool for printing realistic quality cards. Anyone should be able to look at your printout and be able to tell they're not real. This discourages people from using the program to cheat at official events, and also keeps WotC or any other game company from bringing the lawyers.

I have something nice with PrimoPDF.

Last question,
do you have an option on MSE to set cards as square corners ?

thanks a lot for your support

Some templates have squared corners, the Magic templates don't. To change that you'd have to mess with the programming.

I'm curious about what sort of paper to use to make them seem as real as possible... I also want to get that backside to look like a real card. (not selling mine <.< of course >.>) I'll need to find a printer that can handle that kind of stuff tho...

For you information, my Printer ask me 95€ for 20 page with each card cut ... but in square corner, with corener rounded it will be very expensif.
I ask for one side only, the other size will be blank as Artist Proof.
The paper is 300gr per page, almost the same thickness as a card.

It will be perfect with a sleeves.
I will post pics when it's done.

To be honest, with a profesionnal printer (or not), try to creat MTG card is impossible.

Try this - when printing from MSE to PDF, use 150 dpi. That's the resolution MSE uses to make the templates, and it is fixed. If you set it higher you don't get better quality, just smaller cards.

You can export all card images and then place them into a open office/word document and then print.
