,
: Target exiled card with suspend loses it until end of turn.

, Exile a card from your hand: You may choose a card you own from outside the game with the same mana cost as the exiled card, reveal that card, and cast it without paying its mana cost.

Some bleeding good cards there. Tough choices.
Had I known I didn't have any votes at all, I would've voted myself.
Naww...

Personally, I'm probably going to try to wait until the last minute to vote, and then cast mine in case of a tie breaker being needed.
Right now, it's a three way tie between smooth, Vergalon, and monkeychewtoy. If I had to vote now, it'd go for monkeychewtoy, as he's the only one showcasing anything special about MSE. The other two aren't doing anything new that hasn't been done on real cards (no offense guys).

@pichoro: no offence, but Smooth showcases the abilty to make green-colored artifacts, while monkeychewytoy's shows the abilty to make planeswalker cards that have a trigger ability. only vergalon show's nothing new.
I voted for Vergalon, I really liked that card. It's simple so a new player would understand it easily, but it's interesting with great flavor.

I voted for Xargon.
Although the card could easily say
: Target Red or white creature gets +1/+0 until end of turn
it still has a great concept of neo-boros, or new sliver gameplay.
Copapoc: Except colored equipment's been done by real cards. Even ones with green in the cost: http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Search/Default.aspx?type=+[equipment]||subtype=+[equipment]&color=+[G]
Walkers with triggered abilities haven't.
I think Xargon's is in the same boat - nothing new, even when compared only to real cards.

I had a hard time choosing between Aurora, smooth, and monkeychewtoy. They were all solid cards. Oronically, they were all tied for first when I cast my vote too.

And btw now that the first round is done, I thought I'd say: Dragon of Dawn's ability contradicts itself. It gives itself overbear 2 thus making overbear 4 useless.
I have something of a confession to make. I went to the poll and voted (via the Recent Posts tracker) before I read the thread referring to the poll. In my excitement, I voted for myself. I feel foolish and greedy, and if it's not too hard, I'd like for my vote to be recast for Anuttymous. I'm a big fan of flip/unflip cards, as they were one of my first serious discussions when I joined these forums years ago. And Nutty's card is a very elegant implementation of that mechanic.
At the very least, feel free to disregard my entry in the case of a tie, and consider it a tie if I win by one vote. :/ Sorry again for my selfish zeal.

Made the change, and thanks for your honesty and integrity here, monkey.
As a side note, this doesn't mean you can change your vote. I made the exception given that he was changed his vote for himself. Only if you accidentally or otherwise voted for yourself will I consider making this change.
EDIT:
Feel free to cast your vote, as I'm holding on to mine for just such an occasion.
Teary eyed that someone liked my submission...

Just a reminder to everyone, the poll will close in less than 6 hours, so get your votes in while you still can!
EDIT: Final call for votes! In a little over an hour the poll will close and we will have our winner! It's a close contest, and currently Vergalon holds the lead with 4 votes!
@pichoro: okay, i forgot about those XD. sorry ^^'
@all: verry excited =D
I'm pleased that so far three people (none of them me, this time!) have seen fit to vote for my design. I'm flattered, and very proud. I'm also excited that the runnings are neck-and-neck. So intense! I wouldn't be ashamed to lose to any of the forerunners. I'd say this has been a successful first round.

And we have our winner! Congrats to Vergalon!

EDIT: Correction, images. I decided that, for at least this first contest, and since the vote was sooooo close, to put up runner-up thumbs as well. Click them to view them in a new window (or tab, depending on your browser settings.

Oh wow.
I wouldn't have though I'd even be in the running until yesterday.
I wasn't expecting to win with such a down to earth card for the first competition, but I guess I was wrong :3
Still, very close.
Good choice for the card image! *saved*

Awesome! Thanks. Akrim looks great. Just curious - will previous CotWC winners be archived anywhere? Just for people who go to the Welcome page to "click here to see previous winners"?

Not sure about anyone else, but I found it quite difficult to narrow it down to one entry.
AF, would it be possible to vote for more than one in future polls? Perhaps one vote per ten entrants or so?
Or vote for a top 3. I like that. Also, can we view the standings?

Sorry, but no. Our forum software alots you guys each one vote, and that's it. I would definitely raise that number if I knew how though. Maybe Twan will see this and have a solution.
