The SET file can be downloaded here.

{1.1}Added rariety of 196 Commons+151Uncommons+106Rares+8Mythic rares=461. The information below will be updated when I have time, and will take place in future updates.

{1.0} considered the set finished at 461 cards. 47 cards of each color including splits lots of things, Currently uses mostly Modern 8th edition frames, 3ability planeswalker, 4ability planeswalker and modern clear frames.

{0.6} The set is now at 266 cards. I actually removed all of the planeshifting in the set which would be formally known as "chaotic shifting," the plan for the set has changed dramatically. I decided to start counting the number of cards each colors have so:
40 cards for each single color. Then 50 artifacts, 7 multicolored cards of each dual color combination, and 4 multicolored cards of each triple color combination, 35 non basic lands and 5 basic lands
(40*5)+ (50) + (7*10) + (4*10) + (35) +5 = 400

And the rarity break down would be like this:
172 Commons
108 Uncommon
94 Rares
26 Mythic

EDIT: small update, hopefully I'll bring alot more goods soon

I do have other Ideas for future sets names in the block
Chaotic Shift=>Plane Merge=>Planar Destruction

I updated the card list, and inside the spoiler below I included the previous update information

Spoiler:
{0.3}I've changed the post to not include pictures of the cards but instead has a text of each card that I have developed for the set(with your help). I took some suggestions and changed the cards. I am aware that there is plenty of errors regarding grammar and general wording.

{0.4}If you want to read about Magic's Storylines then click that. I also updated a lot of the cards probably going to get rid of Zombie and Cosmic Zombie just due to I need to fit Phyrexians in.
Personally, I read all of the Urza's storyline and I had my friend Design Svat, one of the characters from when Urza's final confrontation with Yawgmoth although it's not very Synergistic.

{0.41}Currently the set is at 105 cards which all are edited into the forums here. I added lands to each dual color. I added planeswalkers to each character that I wanted to make a planeswalker for. I also added a new legendary character and with his equipment.
I want to make more dual color legendary characters, I also want to make eight more 3 color legendary characters.

{0.45} The set is now at 147 cards, and I'm trying to make the set have 350 cards so, it would be similar to Urza's Saga set. I made a huge update and I changed my lands. I plan on adding 3 color lands for each set combination that have cycling and still have the basic land types. I plan on making more creatures that share a Planeswalker subtype rule I want to add Adjani, Chandra, Garruk and Liliana. Also I found a good section on the magic gathering wiki to find out more about storyline, Planeswalkers and Arabian Night's Comic. Unfortunately, I can't provide a direct link to the planeswalker's story information due to smiley tags getting in the way, but heres the link with a space in it.
"http://wiki.mtgsalvation.com/article/Category: planeswalkers"

{0.5} The set is now at 202 cards. Due to real life stuff at the moment I don't think this set will progress or finish very quickly. I added Giddeon, Sorin, Tezzeret and Sarkhan as "Legacy" creatures. I'm Changing the name of the set to Chaotic Shift, this set is trying to follow Time spiral blocks Nostalgicism with a better focus hopefully.

Only 266/461 cards of the set are listed below, some been updated and this will be updated eventually.6/16/2013

Wow, where to start...

1.) Use spoiler tags when posting so many images. A sad 'frowny'

2.) Don't post suggestive themes. There are lots of children that view this forum. Seriously, it's not cool.

Now, for the set as a whole, you need to really learn some more about making sets. You've got too many themes and too many mechanics. Pick one or two, and go with that. Save the rest for another set.

As for the cards, again, too complicated. You're trying to make Urza do everything, and as a result, he is a very ugly design. Pick one aspect, and have him work with that. Other cards are too complicated too, like Urza's Colossus.

Finally, MSE has spell check now - use it. And look at existent cards some more to learn better wordings. Really, the spelling, grammar, and wordings on your card are so bad that they're hard to read currently.

Way too much stuff at once. You really have to work on your wording.

For Those Starting A New Set - READ IT

Art_Freak
Art_Freak's picture

To forewarn you, I'm a bit of a jerk, so if you're the sensitive type, avert your eyes now.

If you didn't know the basics (that there were 3 'Urza's' sets), I'd say that's a pretty good sign you shouldn't be trying to represent him... You don't seem to understand who or what he really was, and not knowing about the sets revolving around possibly the greatest of his story arcs is not conducive to designing a tie-in set to them. I'd recommend going with something you're actually familiar with or researching and reading more before you dive headlong into design.

Moving on, I have to second what Pich said. I really feel that no card should be one giant stack of keywords like the colossus, especially when they have no flavor with one another. "I'll Lightning Bolt you, and then I'll cast my 25 cmc Colossus for 5 thanks to its absurd affinity for permanents and convoke, and it'll be a 20/20 thanks to the sunburst paid with White mana symbolBlue mana symbolBlack mana symbolRed mana symbolGreen mana symbol and bloodthirst 5. Oh, and you can't touch it. AND I'M PLAYING IT ON YOUR TURN!!!!1!!1" Sorry, but in cases like this even the most unintuitive player should be able to see that that's beyond broken, not fun or creative design, and players would hate a card like that thanks to the odds of EVERY deck having it and always having to face it. Save yourself the trouble of stacking up all those keywords and just make it a 0 mana symbol 20/20 with Flash and Shroud and you can see how broken it is.

As for Urza... way, way too much going on there. One activated ability is ok. Two activated abilties is fine. Three, you're pushing it. 4+... come on. Really? You need 6 activated abilities.

To reinforce what ATW said as well, WORDING. Seriously. The grammatical structure of the average card is not so complicated as to be impossible to figure out. We even alleviated the hazard of spelling errors by giving you a spell checker. And on Growing Circle (just one example here), you had to have forced that Tap symbol with the symbols button, because otherwise it wouldn't have come up without a : or a , following it... which would have happened automatically if you'd taken a hair more time to type these out.

And a card of yourself in the set... yes, it's your set, you can do what you want, but I personally can't stand the idea of envisioning oneself in Magic. Legends represent the storyline, of which, you are not a part. Give us some background on why you are in this case and I'll drop this point, but seriously, you're out of place.

Sorry if I've offended you, but I think you needed to come down from whatever cloud you're sitting on when creating these cards.

I appreciate your opinions and no you didn't offend me Art Freak. Thanks to you guys I will seek help or work on fixing the wording, grammar and spelling on my cards.

Art_Freak wrote:
To reinforce what ATW said as well, WORDING. Seriously. The grammatical structure of the average card is not so complicated as to be impossible to figure out. We even alleviated the hazard of spelling errors by giving you a spell checker. And on Growing Circle (just one example here), you had to have forced that with the symbols buttonTap symbol, because otherwise it wouldn't have come up without a : or a , following it... which would have happened automatically if you'd taken a hair more time to type these out.

OK, let me explain to you what the card is suppose to be. Growing Circle is the enchanted creature card that makes the creature into a land, and allows the creature to tap for mana. Then at threshold it gains an ability to sacrifice the creature to activate 4 mana into your mana pool.

Now let me continue, It seems like to me that you are accusing my card of having wrong wording on the basis of that i used ":" which I might be mistaken on.

I would like to add that I knew when I was making the circle cards that the wording was absolutely off. Such as on Circle of Death I wrote,

Quote:
"0 mana symbol:Sacrifice circle of death, target creature gains death touch,"

where it probably should have been

Quote:
"Sacrifice Circle of Death: Target creature gains Death touch"

However, to me, the lower one doesn't look right because it makes it looks like activate Threshold, then you have no choice you must Sacrifice it!

Below I tried to rewrite the growing circle inside the spoiler.

Growing CircleGreen mana symbol

Spoiler:
Enchanted creature becomes a 1/4 Creature that is also a land in addition to its creature types.
that creature gains, Tap symbol Add one color to your mana pool where the colors are colors that the creature is.

Threshold (if you have 7 or more cards in your graveyard] Sacrifice Enchanted creature:Add 4 mana symbol to you mana pool where the colors are colors that the creature is.

Again the reason why I added the 0 mana symbol to most of the circle cards is because I wanted to make it clear that it was an activated ability. Note that Hapless Researcher is a official card in MTG, that has this text "Sacrifice Hapless Researcher: Draw a card, Discard a card."

This is kinda funny I must say sounds like people must do this all the time. Am I giving you a head ache?

As for you comment Art Freak, many players who won events had themselves made into cards and I suppose maybe making making every acquaintance that I been actively involved with into a card might not be the best idea, but I'm having fun doing it and its what I'm going do.

Now, for the set as a whole, you need to really learn some more about making sets. You've got too many themes and too many mechanics. Pick one or two, and go with that. Save the rest for another set.

Time Spiral block had a lot of of mechanics, Ravinca block had a lot of mechanics... that might not be your favorite set but it is mine and I think you can still make a great set with a lot of mechanics.. and seriously one or two!? Is there even a wizard made set in existence that only has 2 mechanics?

Pichoro wrote:
As for the cards, again, too complicated. You're trying to make Urza do everything, and as a result, he is a very ugly design. Pick one aspect, and have him work with that. Other cards are too complicated too, like Urza's Colossus.

Alright I'll work on it thanks for the suggestion

Pichoro wrote:
Finally, MSE has spell check now - use it. And look at existent cards some more to learn better wordings. Really, the spelling, grammar, and wordings on your card are so bad that they're hard to read currently.

Ok I will work on it, I didn't realize the grammar was so bad, and I feel stupid for even submitting anything if you say that grammer is that awful, but I will work on the cards adjusting them to be cleaner and neater and everything.

Time spiral did have to many mechanics, and I'm pretty sure wizards said that it did. Ravnica had a mechanic per color pair, but only 3 or 4 color pairs were shown per set. I say 5 mechanics max per set. (And when did pich say that he did not like time spiral or ravnica?)

Threshold your wording wrong. It should be:

Threshold -- As long as you have seven or more cards in your graveyard bla bla bla.

I would think of something you want to base your set around and go from there.

And only reuse one or two keywords, any others should be new.

To be fair, looking at the majority of recent sets, we see 1 to 2 mechanics, zendikar had kicker and landfall, worldwake had multicker and landfall, rise had annihilator, level up and rebound. Shards had 5, but that was for legitimate flavor reasons (i.e. 5 shards each got it's own distinct mechanics) and only two additional mechanics were added all block (domain and cascade).

I am pretty sure a moderator edited my reply post to purposely make me look bad, because I was able to find the text that I did post and the quotations inside of it were working fine. I wish I could edit my replies now because I want it to look neat. Anyways, it wont let me and I guess I'm locked out of editing after other people reply.

As for your replies I guess Ill take it into consideration and I'll try to post text versions of all 57 cards tomorrow. Personally, I think it would be better to come up with the core mechanics for a block then expand them to the sets. anyways GG

I'm making my notes here based only on your first post, dartcron, so bear with me if I'm repeating other posts. To begin with, some notes regarding your cards as a whole body of work:

  • Entirely too much going on. Each card seems to have at least two forces acting on them, and your work would benefit greatly from a bit of simplification.
  • Silver borders mean Un-cards. The first time I saw this thread, I saw the silver borders and stopped reading, because there's usually nothing to be done about joke cards.
  • Your card wording is way out of whack. To make your cards cleaner and more readable, try following the guidelines here; or, if you have a certain card in mind when you're making a new one, try to pattern your new card off of the Oracle text of the card in the Gatherer.
  • Revisiting old mechanics is fine, but try to make sure they're thematic. For instance, a set with both flashback and threshold could be a memory-themed set. If your library represents your long-term memory, and your hand represents your short-term memory, than perhaps your graveyard represents things you've forgotten. Such a set could be thrilling to play. But throwing every keyword that comes to mind onto a card, willy-nilly? Perhaps the silver borders should stay.
Those are my notes before I get into specifics. Keep them in mind as you go.
Spoiler:
  • Urza, the old: We're missing caps on an already less-than-flattering name. Perhaps "Urza, the Ancient," or "Urza, Master of Mana." The latter I think seems appropriate for a five-color legend. Now, as for the card itself... It's already legendary. Mystical is, I'll be honest, dumb. There's no use in a card if I never draw it. The abilities are poorly written and even off-color. Plus, I just paid for a 5/5! Why would I want to tap it for any reason other than to attack with it?
    • I had a couple of ideas for revamping this.
      Spoiler:
Urza, Master of Mana White mana symbolBlue mana symbolBlack mana symbolRed mana symbolGreen mana symbol Legendary Creature — Human Spellshaper M Mana for MTG Extra
Vigilance (Our White mana symbol ability combines well with tap abilities.)
10 mana symbolRed mana symbolRed mana symbol, Tap symbol, Discard a card: Urza deals 10 damage to target creature or player. The damage can't be prevented. (Urza is able to turn any card in your hand into the most fearsome form of his rage.)
Green mana symbol, Tap symbol, Discard a card: Destroy target artifact. It can't be regenerated. That artifact's controller gains life equal to its converted mana cost. (Urza and Green mana symbol don't really get along, a sign that this card concept needs adjusting. I did find Crumble, which references both Argoth and Argive, places from Urza's past.)
2 mana symbolBlue mana symbolBlack mana symbol, Tap symbol, Discard a card: Each player draws two cards, then discards three cards, then loses 4 life.(Urza spellshapes his guilt.)
      5/5
That Urza is trying too hard to force himself into five colors. It's still not good, and at nine lines of text on the card, is just too wordy. The next attempt is a little better.
      Spoiler:
Urza, Master of Mana 3 mana symbolBlue mana symbol
Legendary Creature — Human Artificer M Mana for MTG Extra
Artifacts you control have "Tap symbol: Add 1 mana symbol to your mana pool."
1 mana symbolBlue mana symbol, Tap symbol: Put target artifact card from your graveyard on top of your library.
      3/3
This time I was looking at Urza's ability to make artifacts work for his purposes. This card is simple on its own, but can combine in fantastic ways with cards from Magic's history. Suddenly Ornithopter is a pale Birds of Paradise! Herbal Poultice is a pale Mox! I should also note that Urza actually does appear as a card, in the form of Blind Seer. That's where I got the mana cost and p/t for this Urza from. His second ability is from Academy Ruins, what's left of the institution at which he once taught.
    • Urza's Colloussus: Colossus. See Old Fogey, Blast from the Past, and Progenitus. You're not gaining anything by tacking on all these abilities. You're not even breaking new ground. Back up, think about what you want, and work towards that. We want a Colussus based off of Urza's designs.
      • Urza's Colossus 7 mana symbol Artifact Creature — Golem Red mana symbol
Urza's Colossus doesn't untap during its controller's untap step.
0 mana symbol: Urza's Colossus gets -1/-1 and gains your choice of flying, first strike, trample, or vigilance until end of turn.
7 mana symbol: Untap Urza's Colossus. Activate this ability only during your upkeep.
        7/7
    • Inspired by Colossus of Sardia and Urza's Avenger. Seven mana happens to be what you get from tapping one of each piece of 'Urzatron.'
    • Urza the Dimensionwalker: This is not how planeswalkers work, and really Urza deserves to be better than some watered-down lovechild of Tezzeret the Seeker and Jace, the Mind Sculptor. We want Urza to care about artifacts, yes, but also about magic in its purest forms. This is also a good time to bring back Urza's original name for himself:
      • Urza, Planeswalker 2 mana symbolBlue mana symbolBlue mana symbol Planeswalker — Urza M Mana for MTG Extra
[+2]: Look at target player's hand.
[-1]: Until end of turn, you may spend mana as though it were mana of any color.
[-9]: Each player shuffles his or her graveyard and hand into his or her library, then draws seven cards. You untap up to six lands.
        [5]
    • As you can see, I never got around to working the artifact angle of his persona. But I threw in homages to Glasses of Urza, Sunglasses of Urza, and the most broken card in his block, Time Spiral.
    • Urza's Gauntlet: Possibly a homage to Gauntlet of Power? Or Gauntlet of Might? Either way, this card is lackluster. First of all, keywording a drawback is a surefire way to leave the impression in the reader's head that the card sucks. Second, we can do something similar using Ice Age's Land Cap technology. Third, we can reference Howling Mine for proper wording:
      • Urza's Gauntlet 6 mana symbol Artifact Red mana symbol
Urza's Gauntlet enters the battlefield tapped.
Whenever a player taps a land for mana, if Urza's Gauntlet is untapped, that player adds one mana to his or her mana pool of any type that land produced.
    • In the end, I decided it was cleaner to play it on turn six and untap it on turn seven than it was to play it on turn four, wait, and untap it on turn seven.
    • Pause: As amused as I am to think of Pause, Rewind, and Fast Forward all working together, this one seems really complicated for what it wants to do. Ertai's Meddling for three, Radiate? Dear lord. Let's try something a little more conceptual. What does 'pause' do? Why, it stops time, of course.
      • Pause 5 mana symbolBlue mana symbolBlue mana symbol Instant M Mana for MTG Extra
End the turn. Untap up to seven lands.
    • Fast Forward: Some sort of Vexing Shusher with split second? Is that what we want to do? Or does 'fast forward' want to quicken things?
Fast Forward Blue mana symbol Instant Red mana symbol
The next sorcery card you cast this turn can be cast as though it had flash. Untap up to one land.
    • I took the cantrip off because we're replacing the other cost of the spell—the mana—instead of the card.
That's all I'll get to tonight. I hope my criticism was constructive, at least. Let me know what you think of my suggestions, and I'll get back to the other cards tomorrow or Friday.

I'm not too fussed about what you're doing with the set, Dartcron, I believe if you want to have a load of overpowered cards, then go for it. But my advice: Don't let anyone else see the set. Believe me, I've tried.

The only thing that I think you ought to do is grammatical, and has already been pointed out. Try to brush up on your Magic talk.

And if you're going for a set to show everyone, rather than a more personal set of overpowered cards, then have a look at these threads:

Untrue! Invitational winners got to get a card they designed printed. And customarily, their likeness was included in the card's art. The card is not meant to be them.

That said, I personally don't find this objectionable as long as you do it tactfully. I mean, the card needs to be really well made, which most "self-representation" cards aren't.

dartcron wrote:

They aren't my favorite, but I like those sets. That doesn't change that they were far too complicated. WotC has turned around and been much better about keeping their themes concise since then.

dartcron wrote:

Okay, 2 might be a bit extreme. But you NEED to simplify. Especially as a beginning designer - don't kid yourself and think I'm just preaching at you with nothing to back it up. Look around - WotC doesn't do those super-complicated sets anymore.

Let's re-word a card. I'm going to take Growing Circle for this.

Your version:

Growing Circle G
Enchant Creature
Enchanted Creature becomes a 1/4 land that cannot attack. That creature gains
T add a mana to your mana pool of colors that the card is.
Threshold
~ gains: Sacrifice enchanted creature, add 4 mana to your mana pool of colors that the creature is.

1.) Enchant Creatures don't exist anymore - they are Aura enchantments with "Enchant creature" (the keyword).
2.) Threshold is an ability word now. Werebear. Look at the oracle wording, not the printed card's image.
3.) If you grant something an ability, put it in quotation marks in the same line, not in a whole new line.

That gives us:

Growing Circle G
Enchantment - Aura
Enchant creature
Enchanted Creature becomes a 1/4 land that cannot attack. That creature gains "T add a mana to your mana pool of colors that the card is."
Threshold -- ~ gains: Sacrifice enchanted creature, add 4 mana to your mana pool of colors that the creature is.

4.) Colons after costs of activated abilities. They get formatted like this - "<mana cost>, <T or Q>, <other costs like life or sacrifice>: <effect>."
5.) First word after a colon gets capitalized.
6.) "4 mana symbol mana" is redundant because 4 mana symbol is a mana symbol.
7.) "Enchanted Creature" should be "Enchanted creature".

That brings us to:

Growing Circle G
Enchantment - Aura
Enchant creature
Enchanted creature becomes a 1/4 land that cannot attack. That creature gains "T: Add a mana to your mana pool of colors that the card is."
Threshold -- ~ gains: Sacrifice enchanted creature, add 4 to your mana pool of colors that the creature is.

8.) "that cannot attack" can be simplified as "with defender".
9.) "a mana" should be "one mana".
10.) "... of colors that card is." is really terrible grammar, even outside of a Magic card. Looking at Chrome Mox, we can see that the correct wording is something like "T: Add one mana of any of that card's colors to your mana pool."
11.) As the ability is being granted to the creature "that card" should be "this creature".
12.) "That creature gains" can be "It gains".

So we have:

Growing Circle G
Enchantment - Aura
Enchant creature
Enchanted creature becomes a 1/4 land with defender. It gains "T: Add one mana of any of this creature's colors to your mana pool."
Threshold -- ~ gains: Sacrifice enchanted creature, add four mana of any of this creature's colors to your mana pool.

13.) The Threshold ability should be reformatted as an activated ability.
14.) As "Threshold" has no rules meaning anymore, you need to include the bit about how many cards are needed in your graveyard.

Growing Circle G
Enchantment - Aura
Enchant creature
Enchanted creature becomes a 1/4 land with defender. It gains "T: Add one mana of any of this creature's colors to your mana pool."
Threshold -- Sacrifice enchanted creature: Add four mana of any of that creature's colors to your mana pool. Play this ability only if you have seven or more cards in your graveyard.

15.) "1/4 land" sounds really wrong, so let's just say "1/4 land creature", even though it is slightly redundant. It's at least shorter than saying "...1/4 land with defender. It's still a creature. It gains..."

Growing Circle G
Enchantment - Aura
Enchant creature
Enchanted creature becomes a 1/4 land creature with defender. It gains "T: Add one mana of any of this creature's colors to your mana pool."
Threshold -- Sacrifice enchanted creature: Add four mana of any of that creature's colors to your mana pool. Play this ability only if you have seven or more cards in your graveyard.

There we go! I hope that helps you understand more about how to format cards. When in doubt, search gatherer for similar effects on existing cards. That's what we all have to do.

Thanks you! Your post helped alot and I actually been using the Gatherer alot since "MonkeyChewtoy" showed it to me, which helped me reinforce all of this however; I'm pretty sure "gains," is suppose to be "has," and I know I had it written down as "gains," earlier. Also I was wondering if instead of "becomes a 1/4 land creature," can I change this to "becomes a 1/4 land in addition to its creature types," again thank you for your help.

Love it! Awesome!! Yeah, I guess I suck at making Planeswalkers but, I like this only thing is when I type his abilities out on a card I can't fit this part "then draws seven cards. You untap up to six lands," but I can fit "Draws 7." Do you know of a bigger Planeswalkers template or something?

OK, I agree with you and I suppose that it would be better like this. I just might scrap the whole Exhaust idea together, it does suck for a keyword.

Sorry but, I don't like it. The problem is if you end the turn whats the point in untapping lands..
I'm basically keeping the same design I had and placed it in a topic above. I wish we could make it "Counters spells with split second," But I rather leave Split second as it is.

Well I like it, except that it is a nearly a complete copy of Quicken, so I wanted to put a "until end of turn," twist on it and maybe make it cost 2 or 3. This way players could continuously cast Soceries as if they were Instants.

It would be nice, but I guess when I think of until end of turn, does that mean it still has effect during the end of turn step? Well, I don't know and I'll look into it.

Okay. Next big problem I see is mana costs. Namely, you're using ridiculous ones in some cases. So, I'm going to type out a little "speech" I give sometimes about mana costs.

Mana costs tell a player more than just what they need to cast the spell - they also tell them at a glance what kinds of decks the card can be played in. A card with a single colored mana is one that you can splash that color for, and be able to reliably play that card. A card with two of a colored mana tells the player that they have to dedicate a significant amount of their mana base to that color to play the card (so, no splashing for that card). A card with three of a certain color of mana means that card is for monocolor decks only. A card with four of a certain color of mana means the card has a silver border and isn't legal for anything but casual. Winking smiley

But seriously - the only reason to ever use as many colored mana symbols as you are is for mechanical purposes, such as on Primalcrux. On most cards, UUUUU is functionally the same as 2UUU, or even 3UU.

You're also using way too many abilities still. You have four new ones that I see - Lord, Unblockable, Exhaust and Mythical. Okay. But you also have 12 returning expert level mechanics: sunburst, bushido, echo, flashback, threshold, vanishing, scry, fateseal, frenzy, buyback, entwine and hybrid mana. Seriously - too many. Your set has no identity because you're just throwing whatever you want in. Instead of being a set, it's a random pile of cards. Pick a few, cut all the others, and focus on the few you chose.

Benediction - Should be "life, where". Flashback might as cost "3WWW".

Binding Circle - "Enchant creature", not "Enchant Creature". You're still not formatting Threshold right - look at some real Threshold cards. Oracle versions, of course.

Light Shift - Same as Benediction.

Paladin of Everglade - "Vigilance, first strike".

Circle of Weight - "Enchant creature", decapitalize ALL instances of "Exhaust", and review Threshold wordings.

Glimpse the Future - Get those scry and fateseal reminder texts out of there; I don't even have to see the card image to tell that card is hideous.

Leviathan 101 - Change cost to 7UUU at most. Also, Islandhome is an obsolete keyword because it wasn't that great of an ability, wasn't that fun, and negatives are rarely keyworded.

Urza, Planeswalker - Pick three abilities that have something to do with each other. These three abilities have no synergy. Look at other walkers - whenever possible, the abilities work together.

Vampiric Embrace - Here's another wonky flashback cost.

Burn in Hatred - And another one.

Goblin of Simi - Change "Viking" to something else. WotC has cut real world cultures and references, and Viking is definitely real world.

Gorrilla Grow and Super Mana Tree - More crazy costs.

Mana Trees - I see what you're going for here, but stop trying to stifle every little interaction to make them fit where you want them. By doing so, you're making them ugly and inelegant. Cut the "Defender" ability as well as the cannot be equipped. And find a way to slim down that rules text - there's way too much of it right now.

You are absolutely right. In Magic "gaining" something indicates that there is a time limit attached like "end of turn" or "until your next upkeep" or something. For a contineous static effect like this one "has" is the correct word. On another related note. "Play" is now "activate" when it comes to activiated abilities.

I would also like to point out that "mechanics" don't have to be keywords. It can also refer to themes. For instance, the untapping lands spells shocase an additional returning mechanic. Although Wizards did use a lot of mechanics in Time Spiral, they ended up regretting it. Also, it made THEMATIC sense. Here it does not. I love hosting return mechanics but use the ones that represent the world you are trying to show, not jsut any mechanic that you missed playing with and want to see on a card. Take it for what it's worth.

Pause - I see your point; however, your version has too much going on. How often would there be many spells on the stack except in the case of storm? I would make it CMC 4, target one spell, and have it resolve the next turn.

Fast Forward - i like your version. Good job. Although, I might make it 1 mana symbolBlue mana symbol. Blue has very few sorceries in comparison, it should be easy to use in other color decks.

Do you realize that out of the few blue cards you have shown there are 5 counterspells? That is too many. You could save a few for the next sets in the block or just kill em. Either way 5 is excessive. (and I just noticed that you have the counterspell wizard too)

Your exhaust lands are ridiculous. I'm sorry but the drawback does not quite justify tapping for 4.

So, making cards for yourself and friends is cool in my opinion, but why are you including them in a set based around Urza? Wouldn't it make more sense in a different setting?

No offense Monkey, but the Urza planeswalker is kind of lame. The only interesting ability IMO is the ultimate. And I think Tolarian Academy is the most brokenness!

Yeah I agree with how people thinks theres just too much wording on my cards and I need to simplify, So I thought of another way to make Pause into a time walk by turning it into Exhaustion for all permanents. This is what I came up with. Funny thing is I could use Exhaust 1 to simplify "do not untap during their next untap step," but really it just makes it more complicated.

All permanents target player controls do not untap during their next untap step. Untap up to 4 lands that you control.

I Agree, and it has been changed, also the original wording I typed inside of MSE sounded alot better in my opinion, then what I typed above. Also, I would just like to get approval before I go editing a 70+ card list again because, I noticed there's been new wording for "End of turn," called "Clean up," Showing up on Cards. Anyway just tell me if this looks right.

Yes I agree, and no I haven't really noticed. The set is going through a whole revamp right now, I'm removing Flashback and threshold, then I'm adding Onslaught type Cycling. Deleting a majority of cards and trying to just focus on remaking cards with Urza's Mechanics since I can't make any good original keyword abilities because its just not as fun when I'm using someone else's idea in my opinion. I realize though that my idea's aren't always the greatest but one of these days I'm going to come up with something really good!

Now, I wanted to go over Keyword abilities for a second now that I'm on that so, I'm going to quote Pichoro.

Pichoro wrote:

I guess I'm not wording Unblockable correctly because it's on several cards as "[Creature name] is Unblockable," but isn't a keyword, because I thought it was.

Lord is basically my take on Goblin King, I always wanted to make this into a keyword, I just thought it would be cool because it is really simple, and would be cool if it was (all other creatures get +1/+1 for each creature type they share with this creature) maybe I could make that into a separate Keyword.

Exhaust I just came up with when I started trying to word "does not untap until their next untap phase after next". I didn't realize that Exhaustion kind of played a role in the same form, although I seen this card hundreds of times.

Mystical I gave up this keyword. Basically this keyword is (You may only have one of this card in your library) But, yeah it better say "Exile all permanents your opponents control and you win the game," to have that kind of keyword ><

There is another keyword I wanted to mention, this keyword I got my inspiration from Force of Nature. I wanted to name this Keyword, Unleash. However, what it would do I'm not really sure. I thought about making it to where, a creature does not untap during his untap step, unless you pay his Unleash cost. Kind of like a Echo you have to pay each turn, but I don't really know how to word it better or more then likely I should leave the mechanic alone. I guess I need to just grind at it and try to come up with something.

Anyways enough of that, back to quoting Guitarweeps.

Guitarweeps wrote:

I'm going give them "Exhaust 1, and Tap symbol add 3 color of any combination" I don't know if this would be payable, but I'm having a hard time abandoning my exhaust mechanic ><;

I actually made Changes to Urza, planeswalker and I got it to fit on a card when using MSE, so its probably going to stay this way regardless of what people say, and on another note I've been thinking about changing the name of the set to Urza's Aftermath, possibly have Urza's Revival become a set in the same block later.

First, it's good that you're optimistic. Eventually you will come up with something great, you're right. The problem (with your keyword making) is two fold.

1.) Stop making drawbacks. A keyword is a "selling point" for your set. They grab attention. People know sets by the theme, a few well known cards in the set, and the keywords. If one of the keywords is a drawback, it makes the set look boring and bad. Players don't like being punished for playing a card (which is what drawback keywords are doing). I explained this to another user, and I think they finally got it. It doesn't matter that the drawback lets you make more powerful cards. You can try to explain that until you're blue in the face - in the end, a new player who grabs your set and looks at is going to go "Ewww, these keywords suck."

So make positive and rewarding keywords. I'm not saying to stop giving cards drawbacks, but stop making them keywords.

2.) Stop trying to make the keyword and then build eventualities where they are useful. You're doing this backwards. Think of a theme for your set - what is the set about? This isn't just flavor - it's mechanical too. Is your set a graveyard set or a tribal set or a multicolor set or what? Then start designing cards. When you come up with something good and want to use it on lots of cards, then consider keywording it.

Amateur designers have this obsession with keywords and making sure their set has some cool custom ones such. This goes to the point of people keeping set files of just keywords to use. This is not how WotC does things - they make the keywords to fit the situation, and only when they need them.

Also, you still need to be cutting keywords. You dropped two (flashback and threshold), then added two (typecycling and unleash).

You need to stop trying to use keywords and find a concise theme for your set. Once you know what your set is about, you can pick a few keywords to fit. One or two old ones at most, and then two or three new ones. And that's it.

dartcron wrote:

Just because the text fits on MSE doesn't make it good. MSE's textbox scales down and forces all but the most ridiculously long texts to fit. That doesn't mean it looks good. A happy smile

I still wish you would make your planeswalker more synergistic. The abilities aren't connected to each other. Look at [url=http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Search/Default.aspx?action=advanced&type=+[Planeswalker]]existing planeswalkers[/url]. I know they aren't all super synergistic, but many are. The abilities have a goal and work together. Chandra Ablaze is about getting you cool effects by making you discard, and then for the ultimate, she turns those discards into an advantage. Nissa Revane is all about Elves. Sorin Markov's abilities are reflective of him being a vampire - he feeds on your blood, then he really sucks a lot out of you, and then he takes control of you.

Here's an example of one of mine (from Wealth of Gulcandra):

Crucius the Mad
Planeswalker - Crucius
+1: Search your library for an artifact card, reveal it, and put it into your hand. Then shuffle your library. Skip your next draw step.
-X: Put an artifact with converted mana cost X from your hand onto the battlefield.
-6: Until end of turn, all artifact spells cost 5 less to cast.
3

So, Crucius is an Esper Sphinx. As such, you can consult with him like Esperites do, but it costs you your draw for that turn. He can also help you get out a particular artifact without paying for it. Or, he can help you get lots of artifacts.

Another one (from Principis):

Poseyman, Plague of Metal 3B
Planeswalker - Poseyman
+1: For the rest of the game, target creature is an artifact in addition to its other types.
-3: Put a -1/-1 counter on each artifact creature.
-7: You get an emblem with “Whenever an artifact creature is put into a graveyard from the battlefield, put it onto the battlefield under your control.”
3

Poseyman is a bringer of disease. In this version, he turns creatures to artifacts, slowly kills them, and when he does, he takes control of the now metallic husks left behind to do your bidding.

Planeswalkers can have loose themes too. Chandra Nalaar is all about direct damage. Gideon Jura is a soldier, so his abilities are all "combat" themed.

Now, look at your Urza planeswalker again. What's the theme again?

At any rate, when you search your library for a specific kind of card, you have to reveal it so players can be sure you aren't cheating. Harrow.

And you should consider just calling him "Urza Planeswalker". In the novels, old-walkers typically went by names like that. "Urza Planeswalker" or "Teferi Planeswalker". You get the idea.

Well, I looked over Plane walkers more mostly of M11 and Chandra, and I really do agree with you, so I tried to take another step to moving Urza in the direction of synergism. I started from scratch and I like to know what everyone thinks if you'll give me your opinion. I'm pretty sure the wording is off, but I've done the best I could and if you know of a better way to word it, it would definitely help. Anyways, what do you think!

Keyword Development

Spoiler:
Pichoro wrote:

I wanted to give insight to the keywords I've been trying to develop. I hear what your saying Pichoro but, I disagree. I find it easier to try to develop keywords then to think about how can they be used with cards, especially when trying to make mechanics that would be completely original. Anyways here's my keyword ideas.

dartcronsMSE wrote:
Vigor <Number>
This creature enters the battlefield with X vigor counters, when this creature would become tapped instead remove a vigor counter from it, if this creature becomes tapped and you have no more vigor counters then tap it.

Well this is the exact opposite to Exhaust, all creatures with this ability will have a activated tap ability and a passive ability regarding Vigor counters. Below is an example, I like the ability however; I don't know if this part of the key word is necessary "if this creature becomes tapped and you have no more vigor counters then tap it," and I guess this is kind of redundant.

On another note is I plan to use this mechanic for mostly Black mana symbol and White mana symbol cards.

dartcronsMSE wrote:
Everglade General3 mana symbolWhite mana symbol
Vigor 2 (This creature enters the battlefield with two vigor counters, when this creature would become tapped instead remove a vigor counter from it, if this creature becomes tapped and you have no more vigor counters then tap it.)
During your upkeep put a Vigor Counter on Everglade General.
Tap symbol Target Knight you control gets +1/+2 and has protection of the color of your choice until your clean up step.

On to the next one. This one I mentioned in the topic before.

Quote:
Unleash <cost>
During your upkeep you may pay CREATURENAME's unleash cost if you do effect. You may only activate this ability once per turn

Basically I don't think I need reminder text for this on most cards, I guess the activated ability would vary from +1/+1 counters to other effects like flying and such and I'm going to try to fit this in Red mana symbol Green mana symbol theme. I haven't actually developed cards for this mechanic yet, and I know Pichoro thinks this is the wrong way to do things, but I still don't think that is the way WoTC always does things either.

Next one is a keyword I brought up many times, I want to use it mostly for Blue mana symbol and artifact cards.
I'm also debating if I could change the Oracle text from "if there is no more exhaust counters then untap it," to "if there is no more exhaust counters then this permanent loses exhaust."

dartcronsMSE wrote:
Exhaust <number>
Place X exhaust counter(s) on the effected permanent, if that permanent would untap instead remove a exhaust counter from it, if there is no more exhaust counters then untap it.

I know this is mostly a disadvantage keyword, but its hard for me to use cards like this or this without it.

dartcronsMSE wrote:

These lands gain, Exhaust 1 (This permanent enters the battlefield with one exhaust counter if that permanent would untap instead remove a exhaust counter from it, if there is no more exhaust counters then untap it.)

When Circle of Weight enters the battlefield tap enchanted creature, that creature has:
“Exhaust 4 (Place four exhaust counters on the enchanted creature, if that permanent would untap instead remove a exhaust counter from it, if there is no more exhaust counters then untap it.)”
Sacrifice Circle of Weight: target player draws two cards then, discards a card.

I removed it from the lands to as below and It's really hard for me to remove this mechanic because I really like it.

There's 4 more keyword abilities I have renamed and developed. Now you might stop me and say dude... I thought I told you to use two! Let me say that, I'm not planning on using all of these keywords for this set alone and I definitely going to save my new "Mastery" and renamed "Mythical" keywords for the next set.

dartcronsMSE wrote:
Leader(This creature gets +1/+1 for each creature you control in the battlefield that shares a creature type with it)

Lord(All other Creatures you control that share a creature type with this creature get +1/+1)

Mythical(All other creatures you control get +1/+1 for each creature type they share with this creature)

Mastery(This creature gets +1/+1 for each creature type it has in common among creatures you control)

I Like these, I kind of want to make 2 creature types per color with a Lord and Mythical, for the first set anyway, That would be only 12 cards using the mechanics though. I assume that according to WoTC standards that isn't enough.

Other Keywords

Spoiler:
Theres also a few other keywords I thought about making such as:
dartcron wrote:
Double Flanking would be just like flanking except with -2/-2

Might (if this creature blocks or becomes blocked it deals twice the amount of damage that it normally would to that creature)

Super Trample (You may have this creature assign its combat damage as though it weren't blocked.)

Might is too similar to Bushido, and it would get complicated if it had trample so I think that one is rejected. Super Trample was inspired from Thorn Elemental.

Other recurring mechanics I want to use is the mechanics from Urza's Block and Mirrodin Block. I'm already using the free spells mechanic, Entwine and cycling. I want to include Echo, Affinity for artifact's and Imprint. I know this is already too many, and I won't use all of these I just like throwing idea's out there.

I'll try to work on the set more, and post a complete listing. It's just not done yet, and I'm still working on it.

I'm sorry, but there's nothing to disagree with. You complained that you feel like you can't make a good keyword. One part of the answer is to stop trying to make the keywords and then attempting to force them onto cards and into the set. Instead, build cards and a set, and let the keywords come naturally.

In short, you're forcing it.

dartcron wrote:

WotC keeps a file of card ideas and mechanics that were dreamed up in previous set designs and scrapped. Then, they revisit those ideas during design. Again, they never force a mechanic in.

Here's my first question on Unleashed - what does it have to do with a tribal set? Why does it belong? Those are questions you need to ask of every keyword you go to add to a set. "Why do I need this?"

The second question is less connected to the rest of my post and more just about the keyword. Why not simply ditch the keyword and have "During your upkeep you may pay <cost>. If you do <effect>." That's basically what's happening now. You pay a cost, and you get an effect. Real cards do this. Why add in an "unleashed cost" to complicate things? Also, you don't need to say that you can only "activate the ability once per turn". It's during the upkeep, so it's already limited to one, and you don't "activate", as this isn't an activated ability.

Stop trying to fight me - I'm trying to help you.

You need to work on the set as a whole a bit more. Brainstorm some more, think about how to bring the tribal flavor out. And stop worrying about the keywords. Remember - abilities don't need to be keywords. They can just be abilities.

First, from what I've seen, this set is needlessly complex. I can speak from experience, as I did a six-set mega-block that had this same level of complexity: Fractured. I implore you to go into my set hub and review the sets one-by-one.

Each and every set had close to twenty keywords in it, and each new set added something to the mix. This made complexity an issue, but there was something about Fractured that I knew going into the design in 2007.

There would be no consistent theme within the cards themselves.

Now, there were some constants, the "fractured" concept, for example, but for the most part, anything, and everything, was game. This was part of the original design, but I had to find a way to make it fluid and bring cohesion to chaos. Now, there are certainly areas that were colossal flops, and I'll be more than man enough to admit it, but at the time of design, and development, these concepts worked.

One of the hardest things to do is to cut a design you like, but forcing it in will only make the set worse. My advice, set it aside, put it in a box with a Mudkip if you like (or is that liek?) and if you work on something else that it would make sense, well, you have one fewer card to deisgn, as it's already done. I've shuffled cards a lot, it's not as bad as you think.

Did you play Lorwyn block? My guess is no, as Tribal Instants and Sorceries really made those sets hum, and it made you think about them, especially in Limited formats.

Also, eight new keyword mechanics, and one of which is an existing ability that you keyworded. Also, double flanking is better served by just putting Flanking, flanking on a card. It says the same thing, and the rules already specify that it works.

I too have "fought" Pichoro, but, I'm also willing to admit that I could be wrong, and have admitted instances which I was. I recognize that he's just giving me constructive criticism, and trying to make me better as a designer, and that's not a bad thing.

I reckon I could say that I do as well. Except my complexity wasn't the good kind Jrzman is talking about. Mine was the bad kind that I'm trying to keep you from doing, dartcron. My first set, The Taint, I just used whatever keyword seemed good at the time. It was one of the first sets on this forum, and I didn't have anyone to tell me not to do that.

The end result wasn't too bad - it doesn't look like Time Spiral. But there are random keywords that don't fit. I have a single use of Entwine, a single use of Kicker, and two cards using Provoke. Cumulative upkeep appears on 5 cards.

One thing that I do when I am stuck is just do a brainstorming session. Now this can go over a long period of time, not just in one sitting. Card design in many ways is about inspiration. Sometimes you'll have it and sometimes you wont, don't be afraid of that. You may have to wait for it to come.
Anyways, what I like to do is two things:
First, I'll get random words and think of how to make a keyword from it. I might think of one or two cards to go with it and then set it aside and go to another. You might run through 10-15 words and then you can just wait until it seems right to use it.
Second, I will think of themes that I would like keyworded. Now, this can go back to what Pichoro said about knowing what you want from your set, but it doesn't have to. Part of brainstorming is working through ideas no matter what.

Although, you might come up with some crap, it helps to come up with good ideas too. Also, it is simply practice too which will improve your ability to come up with ideas.

Also, use dictionary and thesaraus! Believe it or not that can be key.

After reading Koga's comment I realize my lands are still broken even as they are, so i decided to change "return the exiled land into the battlefield untapped" to "return the exiled land into the battlefield tapped" Which is edited into the original post now

Orginally the land was this

It has to exile an untapped land or enter the battlefield tapped, otherwise you get three or four mana on the second turn which is broken for a multicolor land. I vote for the latter. Also I would not give this the basic land types. Of course then you would have to reword the trigger to more like Mox Diamond.

Check out my updated set hub.

well I tried going to look at fractured but ultimately, I found it inconvenient having to scroll through the pages to look at the next set of colors. I gotta say I do like some cards but to me it seems like a lot of cards just are not balanced. I looked through white blue and green I think before I stopped. I'm not sure if its such a good idea to be reviewed your oldest stuff. I guess next time I get around to it I look at some of your newer stuff.

Well i decided to have to exiled an untapped land, I rather it keep the basic land types and I don't really see why not plus it makes the wording easier.

With the lands, it's in my opinion that adding 2 mana symbol of multicolor mana and not just "Tap symbol Add Red mana symbol or Black mana symbol to your mana pool" is a bit O.P. I mean, the restrictions seem to leash them, but they could be simplified and streamlined.

When you die, you lose a very important part of your life.

Lunar, I put a lot of consideration into your words and I decided to change it. At first I was Hesitant but then I figured it is better to simplify. I updated a lot of cards text into the original post and also I been trying to get card pictures for each card, so I guess Ill edit that into the Original post too.

After nearly 2 months of inactivity, I decided to bump my post after I updated the topic with a substantial amount of information. I have read the rules And I think that I have a legitimate reasons to bump my topic.

Yessir, you're fine. I've edited the two posts together now, but under the circumstances, I'd say bumping is acceptable. I'd prefer that to a new thread for the same thing, lol.

I'll review your cards later when I'm a little more rested.... I just played YGO for 5 hours and am a bit burned out... especially after a 55 turn stalemate game which I won with an inappropriate Koala.

Basically i'm giving my topic a mini update, i actually updated the file much more, but I'm a bit lazy and don't really have the time to update right now. So, today I emailed my friend this text included and it includes information about old and new cards and things I am curious about balancing. Any Comments, opinions or suggestions appreciated thank you!

INTRO: SECTION #1
Let me just start by saying:

Before I was talking to you about how I have legendary "Generals" that are in my set. I have one for each dual color and one for each triple color but, these generals also have one minion that follows their colors, so i made a few more of these as well as a few more triple color generals.

Then I made a new spell. basically its one for each dual color and they follow then seven virtues and the eight sins.(It's actually seven but I am cheating). These spells basically have Choose one--You get an emblem; or effect.

I also been thinking of a new keyword for spells that would be named "Chainspell," basically it would be like this:

"Joyful Memories" [2][U]
Instant
Draw 3 cards then discard a card.
Chainspell 2 (You may only cast this spell if it is the second spell you have casted this turn,"

I have not even actually made that spell but i just wanted to demonstrate, but i guess this would kinda suck but anyway. I will probably save this mechanic for my next set just showing you it..

SECTION #2 [2Z]
Anyways I want to show you more generals now.. Let me just start with this one:

"Mitsuo the Strategic" [3][W][U]
Legendary Creature--Human Angel
Flying
[U][U], [tap]:Return target creature to its owner’s hand
[W][W]:Target creature gains vigilance until end of turn.
[3/3]

I know I've shown you this card, but basically this is it's corresponding minion:

"Sage of Avea" [2][W][U]
Creature--Bird Wizard
Flying, vigilance
Whenever Sage of Avea attacks you may look at the top three cards of your library and put them back in any order.
[2/3]

This is basically the new card so, I got a few others i will show you bundled together like so:

Blue/Black
"Blake the Stealthy" [3][U]
Legendary Creature--Human Ninja
Whenever Blake the Stealthy attacks an opponent put the top ten cards of that players library into his or her graveyard.
Whenever Blake deals combat damage to an opponent, that player reveals his or her hand. Choose a nonland card from that players hand. That player discard the chosen card.
Ninjutsu [1][U][B]
[3/3]

"Shadowgrip Shinobi" [2][U][B]
Creature-Human Ninja
Whenever Shadowgrip Shinobi deals combat damage to a player you may search that players library for a card and remove it from the game.
Ninjutsu [U][B]
[2/2]

Another new minion.

Red/Black
"Tod the Terror" [3][R][B]
Legendary Creature-Human Demon Warrior
Intimidate
[R][R], [tap]:Todd the Terror deals 3 damage to target player.
[B][B], [tap]:Target player discards a card at random, you gain life equal to its converted mana cost.
[3/4]

"Lypser Souleater" [3][B][R]
Creature-Demon Spirit
When Lypser Souleater enters the battlefield choose one—Destroy target land; or target player loses 3 life and you gain 3 life.
[3/3]

Probably the worse of all the minions I made, this is another new addition.

Green/White
"Darrel the Patient" [3][G][W]
Legendary Creature-Human Elf Ranger
Darrel the Patient can't be countered.
[G][G], [tap]: Search your library for a land card and put it onto the battlefield. Then shuffle your library.

[B][W][3], [tap}: Search your library for an enchantment or Creature reveal it and put it into your hand. Then shuffle your library.

Creature-Vampire Sangomancer
When Karm Vampire is put into the graveyard from the battlefield you may pay [W] or [B]. If you do return a creature or enchantment from your graveyard to your hand.
[2/2]

Karm Vampire above I am trying to avoid using hybrid mana symbols but i probably will be using three color hybrid mana symbols. I have made Karm vampire and the next one since i last chatted with you about them but posting them anyway Stick out your tongue

[Red/Blue]

[R][R]: Steven the Silent gains +1/+1 until end of turn.
[3/4]

"Toransu Ronin" [R][W][1]
Creature-Human Samurai

[2/2]

[U], [tap]: Draw two cards.
[G], [tap]: Put a 2/3 green Beast token onto the battlefield.
[3/4]

"Depths Merfolk" [U][G]

I also got a few more spikes I'm want to add in here, because of that last minion spike:

"Spike Larvae" [G]
Creature-Spike
Spike Larvae enters the battlefield with one +1/+1 counter.
When Spike Larvae has 4 or more +1/+1 counters you may redistribute those counters amongst creatures you control and sacrifice Spike Larvae. Then search your library for a Spike and put that creature onto the battlefield.

In conclusions, thanks for going over this.. if anything thanks for glancing at it for a few seconds.

I guess there is a few other things i like to show you such as:
1.] Franks card, (I changed some stuff and moved colors around)
2.] Some more of the triple color legendary Generals,

This leaves me at making minions for the 3 color generals and i think each i want to have a 3 color hybrid symbol in each creature. Anyways I guess message me tell me what you think, I'm going to bed...

Uh, World is a supertype, like Legendary, and there can only be one World card on the battlefield at any time, much less under your control.

Also, don't try to reinvent the wheel, Phasing is an ability, and it works, with some very strange interactions, which aren't all that bad.

Finally, I don't get "Infinity for artifacts". Do you mean "Affinity for artifacts"?

I think your set is very creative but I think there are some grammatical issues that need to be fixed and I think that some simplification would be good too. I like having a little bit of everything in a set which you did very well on. I noticed that the artwork was very pixelated and if you could fix it that would be awesome. So far I like the general feel of the set but there are a few kinks you should work out.
