Well… I'm more or less a Timmy with some Johnny mixed in. What about you?
I'm probably Johnny and Timmy. But my Timmy is only within my Johnny - e.g. I don't enjoy the simple biggies like Emrakul, the Aeons Torn, or Liege of the Tangle, but a Blue Sun's Zenith with four Caged Suns choosing blue - huge effect (Timmy), generated by thoughtful process (Johnny). Make sense?
As for the Spike in me... Almost nothing. Nearly the opposite in fact - I've made a few decks that set out to lose.
I only play the 8 man drafts cause they are a simple 3 rounds. I usually don't have time for anything longer. Anyways, there are 3 different types; swiss and two elimination variants:
- Swiss gets you one pack per win of the three rounds
- The two elimination variants pay out 4-3-2-2 or 8-4
I am competitive but having fun and making my own deck is more important to me. I would rather make a well performing deck I made up myself then play the best top tier deck that would ensure my victory. When I draft on MTGO my goal is to get a playset of every card in the set so I can turn them in for paper cards. This makes me pretty competitive since I can win packs for the next draft.
I don't understand this deal. Why trade in your playset for paper cards? If you were so dedicated to MTGO that you get a playset, you probably don't use actual cards very often. It seems odd to me, is all.
I am a huge spike. I mostly play kitchen table, so there are no format restrictions or banned lists (which I sometimes take advantage of). A perfect example of my spike nature is this deck, which happens to be my favorite deck that I own, largely because it is in the lockout control style.
I'm usually a bit of Timmy, but somehow... I got beat with the Vorthos stick. To me, it doesn't really matter how good the deck if I can't see the flavorful choices in the cards.

My girlfriend's mother passed away, and we were the ones who found her. I know I don't look too active on the boards, but I do visit rather frequently, but my absence will more than likely grow over the next few weeks. Uh, you have just made the IGCSEs seem nothing right now. Mi más sentido pésame.
@Nutty - A few reasons. First paper copies are worth more. I actually sell most of it online and make a couple hundred per set. Second, I only play draft online so it does me no good to have a bunch of cards. The shuffler just makes me mad in constructed. For some reason I can deal with it in draft.
I disliked the Innistrad prerelease somewhat, because of how little stuff there is to graveyard your own deck, compared to how many things I had that wanted to be graveyarded. In hindsight, I probably just didn't open many, but I had 2 things to graveyard my deck, and people near me had not many more. Wasn't too bad, regardless, I think I came 4th, can't remember too well. Started off with 2-0 wins, but then got beaten to bits in the last two rounds.
I'm having great luck with my Innistrad boosters. Out of 13 packs, I've opened 2 Mirror-Mad Phantasm, a Balefire Dragon, a Tree of Redemption, an Army of the Damned, a Past in Flames (6 mythics!), along with some other rares, including 2 Heartless Summoning, a Test Subject and a Dual land. Pretty good catch, I'd say!

Very impressive from 13 boosters! I (effectively) got a free booster box, minus 3 cards, because I opened up two Snapcaster Mages, and a foil one. Altogether, they'll sell for the equivalent of a booster box, at the moment.
As I cleaned up my desk, (which was as messy as you can imagine) I found some notes on old cards I had designed. They date at least as back as 2007, and as I was little then (remember that I'm still 15) whatever I made was either insanely overpowered or ridiculously overcosted. This was coincidentally about the time I was shown MSE for the first time. Here's an example:

On another theme, I'm on my second IGCSE week—and I'm getting home very early most of the time. Anyone has taken these exams?
I had to look up IGCSE - and it's interesting. Sort of an international GED, only for a more aggressive curriculum. I graduated high school before this was available, but good luck with the tests.

I play CoD but I hated Black Ops and sold my copy. I will be waiting to play someone elses MW3 before I decide to get it.
But the big news is Skyrim! Which will be awesome too. I preordered mine and I can't wait to play it.

From all the previews on Skyrim, it is being called the RPG for people who don't play RPGs. One of the developers beat the game in 2 and half hours so I am sure you can just play it like an adventure game. That is the beauty of it, you can treat it as the type of game you want.
I think I am going to be getting back into this website, design wise. I am going to start designing cards once again, participate in competitions, post completed sets, and so on. I am no longer playing it, however. Just lost the feel for it. Forgive me if I am rusty.
