Shark400 started this community set based on the plane of Muraganda. Muraganda is a wild, barbaric plane with little civilization and teeming with lots of harsh overgrowth and wild beasts. It is home to these cards:
Muraganda Petroglyphs
Imperiosaur
Feeding Grounds

The main theme for "Muraganda Unleashed" will be Cavemen vs. Dinosaurs.
Update for Muraganda's story and theme:

Spoiler:
The Multiverse as we know it is dying. After milennia of endless conflict and turmoil, the planes themselves are decaying into nothingness, and mana itself is fading from existence. But out of the ruins of the old Multiverse, a new Multiverse is beginning to form, dotted with planes like Muraganda, which is pulsing with new, primal mana and overflowing with primitive life. Many planeswalkers from the old Multiverse are looking to destroy Muraganda and use its immeasurable energy to keep their home planes alive for a few hundred more years. But Muraganda is not short of defenders, planeswalkers who have accepted the death of their worlds and know that the circle of life must continue.
War is brewing on Muraganda. The final battle for the fate of the old Multiverse, and the first battle for the fate of the new Multiverse, is about to begin.

Update for Color-Specific Themes:
Spoiler:
White- Major - Vanilla tokens, abilityless creatures support, scouts.
Minor - Morph, nonlizard prehistoric (Mammoths, giant sloths, saber-toothed tigers).

Blue- Major - Homarids, morph creatures, small fliers (Pterodactyls, etc.), tidal themed effects.
Minor - Punish abilityless creatures, prehistoric sea creatures.

Black- Major - Sacrifice costs, cards that trigger when sacrificed, graveyard theme aka abilities that only matter when card is in your graveyard.
Minor - Primal, punish abilityless creatures, Zombie Dinos

Green- Major - Fatty Dinos, primal, tokens.
Minor - Vanilla fatties, abilityless creature support, sacrifice/graveyard theme.

Red - Major - Hasty Dinos, primal, Primordial elements (Lava, lightning, and other stuff).
Minor - Vanilla creatures, mana generators.

Morph is now in all colors but primarily in blue and white.

Set File Update:
The set file can be found here. This includes the design skeleton to help guide card creation. The "copyright" column is actually the card code column. The skeleton is meant to assist but not limit design. If you want to contribute a card but it does not "fit" the skeleton we can still find a place for it if it fits the set.

Set Mechanics Update (New abilities and such)

Spoiler:
Morph makes a return in Muraganda Unleashed. There will be effects that trigger when a creature is "morphed" aka turned face up.
Creatures with no abilities - Many cards in Muraganda give bonuses to vanilla "primal" creatures.
Overbear X - Creatures with overbear can't be blocked by creatures with power X or less.
Primal - Cards with primal have special effects if only mana from basic lands was spent to cast it.

Most of the cards in Muruganda Unleashed should be monocolored and have a "primitive" feeling to them. Multicolor cards are okay, as long as they are in the minority.
Have fun!

* Current Assignment

Spoiler:
Post a vanilla creature with flavorful name and flavor text. This site is a good resource for figuring some dino names. Just make some stuff up as we don't intend on using a lot of existing dino names. We will utilize generalities aka pteradons, mammoths, mastodons, saurus, raptor, etc.

Sorry about doing a multicolor right at the start but think about it
while reading your 3 selected sample's and how it would work with multiple
low cost creatures without skills.

Spoiler:
CARDNAME 2GG
Enchantment (R)
Basic lands produce an additional mana of the same type.

CARDNAME G
Creature — Insect (C)
i never knew insects could grow this big!

CARDNAME 3RG
Creature — Lizard (U)
If only mana from basic lands was used to cast CARDNAME it comes into play with 2 mana counters on it,

This is a great start. It does make me wonder about the other three colors and how they manage in Muraganda's savage wilderness. Here are some ideas to start things off:

Cliff Shrieker 2 mana symbolBlue mana symbol

B: Regenerate Skeletosaurus (The next time this creature would be destroyed this turn, it isn’t. Instead tap it, remove all damage from it, and remove it from combat.)

Looking at Muraganda Petroglyphs, creatures without abilities could be a theme.

You could have cards that make creatures lose abilities with spells, or an effect like "2 mana symbol: ~ looses all abilities until end of turn."

Maybe that could be Blue's general strategy - Keep the opponent's creatures without abilities and swing in with fliers for the kill
Blue should also have a lot of Sea Monster-type cards. Aquatic reptiles were very big and scary in prehistoric times.

The main problem with that is that the card you are using as a reference likes creatures with no abilities. Thus, Blue's "strategy" wouldn't be very effective.

Things like Walking sponge or Phyrexian splicer play with creatures abilities without making it lose all of them.
adding of the splicer is entirely possible, maybe altered name for staying within theme or a small hint to the Phyrexians in your universe.

Good point Adam. The Petroglyphs could be a sort of weird answer to Blue's strategy, but that would be a very boring use of a very interesting card. It would be much cooler to give Green cards like Living Hive and think of a better strategy for Blue.
Walking Sponge is very interesting, but what would the Phyrexians be doing in Muraganda?

Ok. I think we should really get this thing started.

We first need a major theme for each color, and maybe a keyword. I think we should keep this set monocolored because most big abilityless guys are monocolored.

Themes:
White: Smaller vanilla creatures, ???
Blue: Morph, ???
Black: ???
Red: Medium vanilla creatures, ???
Green: Big abilityless fatties. Bonuses to cards with no abilities.

We also should develop the plane some more. We know it will have dinosaurs, officially lizards. That's good for big fatties. I was also thinking blue would have a have a vast ocean filled with big sea creatures. Red would have huge mountains filled with creatures. White ???. Black ???. It would be evolution gone wild.

We need to fill in some of those blanks.

I could see U/B being the main two colors having the Sudden Spoiling/Ovinize type effects. We could even print the kill spell for black as "Target creature is 0/0 until end of turn." In this set's constructed, that wouldn't be that powerful.

Just ideas.

For white, we could do a tribal theme with Hunters. White should feel very survival-oriented in general.
For black, I'm not so sure. Zombie dinosaurs sound like fun though, plus lots of primitive sacrificial stuff. Also, green needs token generators and cards that work well with basic lands(like Imperiosaur).
I'm still working on deepening the theme and story of the plane. I'll update the first post when I have something more substantial

Restack (If only mana generated by basic lands was used to cast this card, return it to the top of its owner's library when it resolves. Ignore additional costs)

"It's the poison that in measures brings illuminating vision; it's the knowing with a wink that we expect in Southern women; it's the wolf that knows which root to dig to save itself; it's the octopus that crawls back to the sea" - R.E.M.

Still too good. Why not something more primal and creature based (Since this set is shaping up that way).

restack {creature type} (When a {creature type} enters the battlefield under your control, return this card from your graveyard to you hand.)

Really needs a better name, restack is just silly, even if you put the card back onto your deck. plus this allows you to make tribal a minitheme and kinda tie it through the set. Since you already ahve lizards and what not we're already thinking like this.

You can do somethings to tweak this. make it when a creature with no abilities enters the field, or have it go to the top of deck instead of hand. Whatever works.

True, but if you have a huge blocker and cast a card like this:

You would just block and block until you burn your way to victory because you never get that unlucky draw.

Just for clarification, it's not wizards who are trying to destroy Muraganda. It's the old planeswalkers (who are now the new planeswalkers in current Magic lore).
Abilities that make creatures have no abilities are a bit weird in this setting because of the many bonuses to vanilla creatures. You might as well use those abilities on your own creatures just to get the bonus, when it's a lot simpler just to have vanilla creatures in your deck from the get-go.
But you're more than welcome to be as creative as you want with the setting. Just note that the most relevant cards will be the most likely to make it into the final draft of the set

Couldn't we make the simplicity noticeable by simply not using classes, sticking to species.
Thog - I think that's too confusing. Plus you get to recover your graveyard each time you play a Witch, unless we redefine Pulse as "Whenever you cast a {type} spell, you may return one card with {type} pulse from your graveyard to your hand". Or we could add a cost to Pulse. Regardless, I think she's confusing. Probably better to say, "Whenever you cast a Witch spell, you may return a {something} card from your graveyard to your hand."

Ur-gana Beserker - 1 mana symbolRed mana symbolRed mana symbol
Creature - Barbarian
Wastage 4 (As an additional cost to casting ~, exile {n} cards from your graveyard)

Well, since we have Dinosaurs and Homarids in the same set, we might as well put this in Stick out your tongue

Jokes aside, Homarids sound promising. Since they're blue, maybe they could have morph, since blue is going to have morph anyway.

I think that fits really well with the theme. Wizards said somewhere that they would never make a black-aligned Human tribe because "Sacrifice a Human" costs might raise a few eyebrows. But I think that sort of thing would work really well for the flavor of black in Muraganda. Of course this raises the question of which "god" they're sacrificing to. I think that having them worship Liliana Vess would be an interesting development

I proposed a Planeswalker in the card clinic. We could recycle it as a new form for Liliana.

Name Black mana symbolBlack mana symbolBlack mana symbolBlack mana symbolBlack mana symbol
Planeswalker -- Name
You can't draw cards. When you discard a card, exile that card from your graveyard.
[+X]: You lose X life and exile the top X cards of your library face down. Put those cards into your hand at the beginning of your next end step.
[-X]: Destroy all creatures with toughness X or less. Each creature destroyed this way deals damage equal to its power to its controller.

Yeah, I kept trying to decide between -2 and -1. I think -1 would work.

Well, I did think about doing "Return all cards from your graveyard to your hand." but thought that a throwback to Yawgmoth's Will would be cooler. Now that I think about it though, she is overcosted. She could probably be 3 or 4 mana.

Anyways, anyone is free to suggest a new ultimate if either those don't fit. It should be graveyard based though given she is a necromancer and we can't use the same one as her other card.

Glad you guys like it though.

Check out my updated set hub.

How about this? I changed a few things around to make her feel more consistent, and stronger.

Liliana, Necromancer Goddess 3BB

Planeswalker - Liliana

0: Each player sacrifices a permanent. Put a loyalty counter on Liliana for each permanent sacrificed this way.

-2: Destroy target creature. It can't be regenerated.

-X: Put X permanent cards of your choice from any graveyard onto the battlefield under your control.

Starting loyalty: 3
