Really, I think everyone's gotten impatient in the last few months with these games. Give him some time. Maybe it's just me, but the thought of having to wait for the next challenge isn't that bad. Waiting for things makes the anticipation better A happy smile

Well, here it is. Took me a lot of time (and nearly leaving my iPod on my school's theatre's backstage several times) but here it is.
I'm judging on three aspects: Playability, Flavor and Cycle. They are worth 10, 5 and 5 points, respectively.
Here's the results:

Spoiler:
Black_Coda:
Spoiler:
Prevailing Wind  White mana symbolWhite mana symbolWhite mana symbol
Sorcery Blue mana symbol
Split second
Cycling White mana symbolWhite mana symbol
Destroy target enchantment. Draw a card.
If you cycled this card into your hand this turn you may reveal it and then put target Aura on top of it's owner's library.
When you cycle Prevailing Wind, you gain 1 life.

I'm not quite sure on the wording on "cycled into your hand this turn", but I get what it does. I think that it needs too much mana dedication to work. Besides, it has too much things going on at once. Maybe changing its cost to 1 mana symbolWhite mana symbolWhite mana symbol or even 2 mana symbolWhite mana symbol may be a good idea. Also, noncycling card draw is mostly blue, as is the wind itself.

Playability: 7.5/10
Different situations, different uses. However, I think it would only be included in monowhite decks.
Flavor: 4.5/5
I like the idea of how this wind "prevails" over different Enchantments, or its soft breeze gives you life (and a card).
Cycle: 2.0/5
The cards have synergy and have the wind theme, but I don't see the cycle in there.

Raznaak:

Spoiler:
Redemption 1 mana symbolWhite mana symbolwmana:
Instant Uncommon
Prevent all damage that would be dealt to you and permanents you control this turn unless any opponent choose to lose life equal to half of the damage that would be dealt to you and permanents you control, rounded down.

My head hurts! Its wording is too complicated. I think (might be wrong, though) that its wording should be more or less like the Planar Chaos self-counter cards. Besides that, works well as a damage-preventing effect.

Playability: 7.5/10
It can either save you or punish your opponent. That's nice- except for the double White mana symbol on its mana cost.
Flavor: 4.0/5
It has the idea of redemption by paying life, but it's somewhat difficult to see.
Cycle: 4.5/5
Same mana cost, same kind of ability - that's an easy-to-see cycle.

copapoc:

Spoiler:
Death Helix Black mana symbolWhite mana symbol
Instant Uncommon
Target player loses three life and you gain three life.

I have to say, I prefer Lightning Helix. The Helix has the option of damaging creatures and players, while this only targets players. However, this works against damage prevention. A happy smile

Playability: 8.0/10
An Essence Drain with CMC 2 is always welcome.
Flavor: 4.0/5
I see how this delivers death, but I don't see where the the life gain goes. Anyways, Lightning Helix is the same.
Cycle: 4.5/5
Works well, but I'm not sure about the monowhite card.

Cthulhupwn:

Spoiler:
Knight of the Garden Seas Green mana symbolWhite mana symbol
Creature - Human Knight Uncommon
First strike, protection from red and from black
Whenever a blue or green creature enters the battlefield, you gain 2 life.
2/2

Good, not much to say. Except that it's maybe too much for an uncommon. Is this Bantian?

Playability: 8.5/10
This card is mad with Selesnya, and gives different options on a single card.
Flavor: 4.5/5
I don't really know about white in here-but it anyways gives the submission plenty of flavor.
Cycle: 2.5/5
As with Black_Coda's entry, I can't really see the cycle here. They can just be some cards of some alignment, say, Bant.

eomund:

Spoiler:
Versatile War Priest 2 mana symbolWhite mana symbolWhite mana symbol
Creaure - Kor Soldier Cleric Rare
Vigilance
Whenever ~ attacks, you may cast a white instant or sorcery spell with converted mana cost 2 or less without paying its mana cost. If you don't, prevent all combat damage that would be dealt to ~ this turn.
3/2

Good card overall, reminds me of the [capaventus]. However, It doesn't specify where can you cast the card from. I suppose that it comes from your hand. Also, a 3/2 for 4 without first strike isn't that competitive, although the prevention compensates it.

Playability: 7.0/10
Not that competitive... Maybe reduce it to 2 mana symbolWhite mana symbol?
Flavor: 4.0/5
Seems a Yu-Gi-Oh! name, but it holds a lot of flavor.
Cycle: 4.5/5
Very versatile use of a cycle as an excuse to make an innovative casting method A happy smile

Sewn-Eye:

Spoiler:
Consecrated Field
Land - Plains Uncommon
(Tap symbol: Add White mana symbol to your mana pool.)
Consecrated Field is white.
Consecrated Field enters the battlefield tapped.

Colored lands? Uh... I really dint know what to say... Really...

Playability: ?/10
I really don't know what to put in there. It's essentially a Plains that ETB tapped. Its white-ness is weird in here.
Flavor: 5/5
A (literally) white land named Consecrated Field? Really?
Cycle: 5/5
C'mon, colored lands are always a noticeable cycle.
Innovation: 5/5
Bonus points for innovation!

The Sensual Coalition of Men:

Spoiler:
:
Wait White mana symbol // See 1 mana symbolBlue mana symbol
Instant Uncommon // Instant Uncommon
Creatures target player controls can't attack you this turn.
//
Look at the top four cards of your library, then put them back in any order.
You draw a card.

Split cards are always (or most of the time, at least) cycles. And they are difficult to judge; I'll judge each card separately, and get the average. The notes are on the white one.

Playability: 8.5/10 // 80/10 (9.0)
Technically, damage prevention for 1 mana. Also, it just prevents creatures from attacking you, not your opponents. A happy smile
The blue one is a bit OP.
Flavor: 4.5/5 // 4.5/5 (4.5)
Creatures Wait to attack you, and you See your future choices.
Cycle: 4.5/5
Splits are very easy to make cycles on. Look at the Ravnican ones, for example.

k1l1:

Spoiler:

Aven Soulshielder White mana symbolWhite mana symbolWhite mana symbol
Creature — Bird Rebel Cleric Rare
Flying
Whenever Aven Soulshielder attacks, you may have target Bird Rebel creature gain protection from the color of your choice until end of turn.
2/3

You'll need a monowhite Rebel deck for this - its color dedication is too high. Besides, it is just Bird Rebels; not Birds nor Rebels.

Playability: 8.0/10
I don't think that protection is worth the triple plains.
Flavor: 4.0/5
It's not evident at first how it shields souls - not at first, really.
Cycle 5.0/5
A vertical cycle in rarity and mana cost gradients - Just (or almost) what I was looking for!

TheAmazingKamahl:

Spoiler:
Spoiler:
Godtracker's Path Green mana symbolRed/green mana symbol
Tribal Sorcery - Elf Uncommon
Search your library for a Beast creature with power 5 or more and put it into your hand. Shuffle your library.

The Tribal thing there seems out of place. And Beasts aren't the only 5+ power-caring creatures (Mosstodon anyone?) The possibly best option with this is Wooly Thoctar. With a little tweaking, it would have found print in Alara Reborn.

Playability: 9.0/10
Nice tutor; not really OP. Can be combo'ed in different ways.
Flavor: 4.5/5
If you know Nayan civilization, it pretty much explains itself.
Cycle: 4.5/5
Searching effect, same cost.

jrzman:

Spoiler:
Fortification of the First 2 mana symbolWhite mana symbol
Artifact - Fortification Rare
Fortified land is indestructible.
Fortify 2 mana symbolWhite mana symbol
“We found a direct assault on The First’s workshop was impossible. Implement a new strategy immediately.”
—Dradit reconnaissance

Well, Darksteel Garrison is better. It's cheaper, gives an additional boost, and it doesn't need colored mana. Besides, there are just a few lands in standard that would need indestructibility.

Playability: 8.5/10
Still, it has its uses.
Flavor: 5/5
Who's the First? IDK who he/they are, but still I see their capabilities. Flavor text also helps a lot.
Cycle: 4.0/5
Not plain obvious at first - unless they are the only Fortifications on the set.

windandfire:

Spoiler:
Moment of the Angel 2 mana symbolWhite mana symbolWhite mana symbolWhite mana symbol
Sorcery Rare
Search your hand, library, and graveyard for a card named "Wings of the Angel", "Eyes of the Angel", and "Book of the Angel". Put them onto the battlefield and attach them to target creature.

Spoiler:
Wings of the Angel 2 mana symbolWhite mana symbol
Enchantment - Aura Common
Enchant creature
Enchanted creature gets +1/+1 and has flying and vigilance.

Eyes of the Angel 1 mana symbolWhite mana symbol
Enchantment - Aura Common
Enchant reature
Enchanted creature gets +1/+1 and has first strike.

Book of the Angel 2 mana symbolWhite mana symbol
Artifact - Equipment Uncommon
Equipped creature gets +1/+1 and has protection from red and from black.
Equip 2 mana symbol

Well, I really am not sure about the wording on this card...
Apart from that, it technically gives a creature +3/+3, flying, vigilance, first strike, and protection from red and black. If it also gave trample, you've got an instant Akroma. The cards alone, however,

Playability: 9.0/10
If you don't have the cards for some reason, it simply won't work. But, if you do, you've got yourself a game - winner!
Flavor: 4.5/5
It pretty much explains itself.
Cycle: 4.5/5
It explains itself pretty much.

Life explosion 1 mana symbolWhite mana symbolWhite mana symbol
Instant Rare
Target player gains 7 life.

Wow. 7 life for three mana? Really? Well, its a rare, after all. Nice, clean, and simple. Its the instant-speed that worries me.

Playability: 9.0/10
Seven life is a lot of life. This card can save you from death, and can be used to accelerate Serra Ascendant.
Flavor: 4.0/5
Well, it gives you an explosive amount of life.
Cycle: 4.0/5
Did you copy the 7 idea from my Archangel?

Guitarweeps:

Spoiler:
Lifeblood Spirit 2 mana symbolWhite mana symbol
Creature - Spirit Uncommon
At the beginning of your upkeep, if ~ is in your graveyard, you may pay White mana symbol. If you do, exile it and gain 5 life.
2/3

I asked for a white card and you gave me a red, so I'll judge the white card in the cycle.

Playability: 9.5/5
A 2/3 for 3 mana symbol is okay. When it's killed, you gain 5 life. Awesome!
Flavor: 4.0/5
I'm not sure if spirits have blood, but it anyways holds flavor.
Cycle: 4.5/5
3 CMC with a graveyard - exiling ability... Plain obvious.

kikushadowblades:

Spoiler:
Life Vendor White mana symbol
Creature - Human Merchant
2 mana symbol: Target player gains one life. Any player may activate this ability.
They say that anything can be bought in the markets of Arknia, even life itself.

Plain awesome. I simply don't know what to say.

Playability: 9.0/10
You've explained it yourself:

kikushadowblades wrote:

Thanks for the positive feedback Sohel, I really felt that the cycle worked on the idea of greed in an interesting way. In case anyone's interested, the plane description for Arknia was just something I made up for the challenge, and is open for use by another if they feel so inclined.

Your challenge this week is a little bit different then your normal challenge. This week, you will be asked to design for the third set in Agralnat block, Agralnat United. The other two sets can be found here: http://magicseteditor.sourceforge.net/node/5096 and here: here: http://magicseteditor.sourceforge.net/node/4929.

For those who wish to understand the background story for the block, read here:

Spoiler:
Calen, the Prophet of Fairdell and leader of the Whitefist Crusade, has formed an alliance with Liliana, High Blood priestess of Freyhaven. Together their forces are strong enough to dominate the plane and wipe out the rebellion of the other tribes. After their victory, Liliana and Calen went to claim the prize of Agralnat, the Parables, a magical stone with the history of Agralnat’s begginnings inscribed upon it as written by the original five gods. It is said to hold the secret to Agralnat's unnaturally fast growth, and will grant unstoppable evolution for it's holder. However, when they find it inside it's final resting place in the dark shores of Snowmarble, they are devoured by powerful energies, and fused into one all powerful planeswalker. The secrets of the Parables were never meant to be unlocked, and Agralnat begins to change rapidly. The cycles of growth have been disrupted and now, beings fuse with each other across the entire plane, coalescing into new, unnatural life forces. The dichotomy of life and death, as epitomized by the fused goddesses, has run rampant over Agralnat. All that does not belong together begins to mix, and everywhere, beasts are fusing with each other to create new, unheard of, forms of life. The knowledge of the secret has gotten out. Nothing will ever be the same again.

What all that means for set design:
Spoiler:
Lot's of cards that use dichotomy's (Leeching Bite , enemy colored multicolor cards(Wee Dragonauts) , interesting triggered levelers, and fusion.

Your task is to design a card using the new action keyword, Fuse.
Here is an example from the set...

Spoiler:
Soulgiver White mana symbol
Creature - Fox Chaos Symbol
Fusion White mana symbol: (White mana symbol: Exile this card and fuse it to target creature. That creature gets +X/+Y, where X is this creatures power and Y is this creatures toughness. Fuse only as a sorcery.)
1/1

We also have more advanced examples such as this fellow...
Spoiler:
Rage Symbiote Red mana symbol
Creature - Goblin Chaos Symbol
Haste
Fusion Red mana symbol: (Red mana symbol: Exile this card and fuse it to target creature. That creature gets +X/+Y, where X is this creatures power and Y is this creatures toughness. Fuse only as a sorcery.)
As long as Rage Symbiote is fused to a creature, that creature has haste.
1/1

You will be judged on balance(10)[How powerful is your card, OP, unplayable even in limited? keep in mind the built in card disadvantage of the fusion keyword, since you must exile the creature.], flavor(10)[How well do you get the idea of fusion across?], Elegance(5)[is your card a mess of text or does it efficiently use the card frame to say what it does?]. I would judge in my favorite category, originality, but there are no cards that use this keyword yet (just please don't copy one of the examples flat out though). Try to use this keyword to it's fullest, and explore different pockets of design space (It's okay if your card is dubious under the rules, as this is a new keyword that can be supported). Strong entries will be included in the final set, with the creator's permission of course.

Quick responses:
1. Your card must use the action keyword Fuse on any card. You do not need to have a creature, and interesting alternate designs with other permanents are encouraged.
2. The flavor of fusion is that (for example) soulgiver merges his physical body into another target creature and that creature receives his power and toughness stats in addition to his own. If you ever saw/played Yu-gi-oh, It would be very similar to the Polymerization card. In the case of Rage symbiote, we have the same scenario, but he is also capable of granting his haste powers when he merges with the other creature.

I can't tell if fuse is supposed to happen once the creature with fusion is already in play or if it's supposed to be exiled from your hand. I'm going to go with an idea based on the latter.

[Level 1-3] Remove a level counter from ~: Regenerate ~. 3/3
[Level 4+] Blue mana symbol: Target fused card becomes fused to ~ instead. [6/6]

Like k1l1, this might not fit the challenge. It's also deliberately powerful, but actually cut down from my original.

A couple more quick points...
1. Your card will work k1l1, it uses the fuse action keyword (see proliferate for another example of thisContagion Clasp )
2. Fusion will work from your hand or the battlefield, this was not specified initially
New reminder text
Fusion <cost> (<cost>: Exile this card from your hand or the battlefield and fuse it to target creature. That creature gets +X/+Y, where X is this creatures power and Y is this creatures toughness. Fuse only as a sorcery.)

Can you fuse a noncreature card to a creature?

You can fuse a noncreature card to a creature, I just don't see why, since noncreatures don't have any power or toughness (which is the main benefit of fusing cards together). I would be very impressed if you posted a noncreature that pulls it off.

Exile target creature, then fuse it to a creature you control. (That creature gets +X/+Y, where X is the exiled card's power and Y is its toughness.)

Does this come under "a noncreature spell that pulls it off"?

@Anuttymous, no what I think kikushadowblades ment was something like this

My entry

Spoiler:
Ansetiral Rage Red mana symbol
Enchantment Red mana symbol
Fusion 1 mana symbolRed mana symbol
As long as ~ is fused to a creature, that creature has haste.
When the creature ~ is fused to leaves the battlefield, return ~ to the battlefield.

This could be a cycle.

Yes, all it does is give 1 creature haste, but it it always comes back. (assuming no one uses disenchant on it.)

More responses...
1.Well, TheAmazingKamahl, your card doesn't actually use the action keyword fuse, so no, it is not an acceptable submission. I want to see a card that uses the keyword action, just mentioning fusion will not be enough.
2. Your card is a perfectly acceptable entry Anuttymous, but darkerling is correct in that I meant a noncreature permanent with the fusion keyword on it would impress me (as it would not be able to provide a power and toughness boost, and thus would rely solely on additional text to be useful). Your entry is still solid though, so no need to post a new version. In all honesty simple but clever uses of the ability will probably win out here over flashy and unusual cards (though a well designed one certainly has a chance of winning).

@Anuttymous - I was thinking something like
not a contest entry Red mana symbol
Instant Blue mana symbol
~ deals 2 damage to target creature or player.
Fusion Red mana symbol (Red mana symbol: Exile this card from your hand and fuse it to target creature.)
The creature ~ is fused to has "Red mana symbol, Tap symbol: This creature deals 2 damage to target creature or player."

Okay, much as I like my previous entry it doesn't meet the criteria.

Primeval Roots -
Sorcery Blue mana symbol
Fusion 2 mana symbolGreen mana symbol (2 mana symbolGreen mana symbol: Exile this card from your hand and fuse it to target creature)
When you fuse Primeval Roots and whenever the creature it is fused to attacks, you may search your library for a basic land card and put it onto the battlefield tapped.
