I just finished my first template. It's for making custom character cards for a game called "BANG!" (http://www.dvgiochi.com/ for more info).

You can download the files here: http://www.mediafire.com/file/mgjzmznnjmx/BANG.zip

You didn't include the 3 bullets image in the character folder.

Also, an important note. When making templates, you should always use lowercase letters for everything. The game file should be named "game" not "Game" (because of this, it may not work for Linux users). And in the game file, the fields should be named using lowercase - "bullets", not "Bullets", "name", not "Name", "image", not "Image", and "ability", not "Ability". I know that sounds like nitpicking, but if not handled correctly, they really can lead to errors down the road.

Thanks, I'm also having trouble with it dropping part of the character name when it prints out. Any ideas as to why that happens?

Are you using the latest version of MSE? 0.3.8b? I'll actually install this later and see if I can find the problem.

I just double checked and it is 0.3.8b that I used.

Does the problem appear in print preview?

Edit: What I find is that the template is very slow, but I don't know why. It only has 4 fields (5 if you count the extra styling field).

I looked at it in the preview and it looked fine so I played around with it for a minute and found that it only does it to some words Like "Chantry".

This may sound like a dumb question but how do I get the card name etc. To show up in the field to the right of the card in MSE; the one where it should show all the cards in the set?

Right click on the table header, click Choose card list columns (or something like that), and select the displayed fields A happy smile

Thanks, I should have looked for a simple solution. I kept trying to code it.

It is possible to code, but only if you do it before you start the template for the first time. After that, you won't see the changes because the version without columns is saved in your configurations file.

An update - I've added a warning to the front post, since I popped open your new version and found you didn't comply with my warnings about capitalization.

Sharing a template that can cause errors for others is not cool. I'm thinking about just taking down the link. A sad 'frowny'

I've changed it twice but I checked it again anyway. I can't find caps in both the version that is uploaded and the one on my computer. where specifically are you seeing them? or is it still coming up on the field names for you?

In the field names, and also still "Game" not "game" for the name of the game file. That's the really big one.

I've gone over it carefully. Here is the new one, http://www.mediafire.com/?gmmmmq1c3zm . let me know if you see anymore and what they are. Until we get this worked out I will voluntarily take down the link in the top post.

Yes, that's better. The only problems I see now are that your version number is wrong (its not 0.3.6 anymore, but that's nitpicky for now), and you're still missing the 3 bullets image (that'll throw an error as well).

It's weird but, when I open the file in photoshop it shows the 3 bullets as being there but when I open it with windows explorer it doesn't. Any way it should be there now. and I updated the version to 0.3.8

Thanks for your patience in helping me out let me know if you find anything else.

Hey all. I just downloaded this today. I realize this template is old at this point, so maybe that's the problem. Every time I hit the new card button, it erases the current card. So I can't add any new cards to this. Any suggestions on how to fix that? Also, this is just the character cards? Is there a second download to get the rest of the card faces?

_________________________________-
Edit: I just fixed the missing card frame on my own. However, I had not noticed this before, the Console is showing some errors. It is repeating this message:
On line 10: Expected floating point number instead of 'X'

Replace the X with different numbers. They all have to do with the position of boxes. There are four errors (numbers for X) and they are, 375, 50, 50, 50 in that order.

Edit 2: Fixed the "no new cards" problem. The options weren't checked in the card columns. It was creating new cards, I just couldn't see them. Still can't fix that second problem.

I actually fixed this and forgot to respond to this thread. If Pichoro wants to host it, I can email it to him. I don't have an upload site other than my photobucket which will not support zip files.

Is there any way that the template be re-posted? Mediafire no longer hosts the template.

Thanks
