I was wondering how to get the Future Sight symbols (grail=artifact, claw=creature, lightning=instant, etc.), to appear where the tombstone option is listed? It would be nice to be able to mix and match some of the other templates in this way.

There really isn't a good way.

Any method doing it requires changes to all style files, and new symbols. You see, the future sight type symbols aren't the right size and shape for use in place of the Tombstone Icon. They get all stretchy and ugly.

Thanks for the tip, Pichoro. I wasn't sure how to go about it, but I understand now that it will take more work than I know how to do just yet. Obviously, the card templates themselves would require an update to accommodate future sight symbols. Well, if anyone wants to make a template for it, I'd be interested in seeing it. Thanks. A happy smile

I had worked on this briefly a wile back. It's a job, I tell you what. But in a couple of weeks, after finals, I'll be back at it in earnest. I'll let you know when I have results.

I did up some high-res versions for the kid magic template. In my template, I put them on the left-side of the type line, to help reinforce the word association to the symbol.

I started a generic "magic" template but haven't posted it yet, where I implement the type symbols the same as the tombstone - a very small clickable box, which expands and shrinks the rest of the type line accordingly.

Another issue I've mentioned to Pichoro, is the lack of a "none" option in the current game file list of type symbols. Granted, the list is only "officially" used in FS, where the cards will always have a type symbol. For it to be an optional addition to other templates, "none" needs to be available like the tombstone.

I can tell you that for the official source, I'm opposed to adding a field for this that is separate from the tombstone icons. I'm not opposed to adding these symbols to the tombstone icon list, though, if good versions are available that will look decent in the same size box as the tombstone icon. I'm also thinking we don't need to do both white and black versions for the list; I think just Tombstone, Artifact, Creature, Enchantment... is good enough. Then, each template can utilize the color of symbol that looks best on them.

Still up in the air about the "none" for the type symbol list too. Not sure it needs to be able to be shut off, so to speak, if type symbols are being added to the tombstone icon list.

Invariably, there will be people who don't want a symbol there. And I don't think they'd look all that good on, say, the Nostalgia template.

Online dictionaries abound. It's time to start using them.

Indeed. But the Tombstone Icon List has a "None" option; that will not be taken away, and will be the default.
