The only old game I've any

The only old game I've any interest in is Hecatomb; I've felt very interested in it lately.

But as for other old games, if there's desire for a template to be made, the steps are always the same.

1.) Scan the cards individually, and at a very high resolution. We're talking like 600dpi minimum here.

2.) Find a photoshopper to create blank images from the scans. This includes removing (and preserving) any floating pieces, like p/t boxes in Magic.

3.) Identify the fonts.

Steps 1-3 can sometimes be skipped if a psd exists.

4.) Find a coder to turn the images into a functioning MSE template.

As I look back at my

As I look back at my response, I feel like I might've come off like there's no other reason to discuss old CCGs; I wanted to clear that up. This is in general discussion, and all. I just don't know much about them myself because Magic was my first game, 8 years ago, and Hecatomb is the first sign I've shown of getting past it. A happy smile

But I do feel like an inevitable path for this discussion would be making templates, so I certainly feel my first post there is good for anyone to read, since it is a static method of how to do things, and pretty much any template can be made in MSE. If one comes along with features that can't be replicated, that's probably a sign that its time to add a new feature to MSE. A happy smile

Whenever I find a random

Whenever I find a random card of something, somewhere, I always get this urge to turn it into an MSE template; even if I barely know the rules Stick out your tongue

I don't know if this will

I don't know if this will help but I found this online.

http://www.geocities.com/TimesSquare/Realm/7245/

It has the tempaltes in there, but I dont think that the MSE program will like them very much.

This one has random cards.

I am random. I am hardly seen. I'm the invisable annoying guy that likes chewing water. I see you, but nothing happens. Superman has a problem eatting my green milk, you know something about cows from smallville. Snails do grow on trees. I am random.

I'm gonna make some high rez

I'm gonna make some high rez scans.. I was thinking though, there are to many templates for this game.. Most CCGs had one or 2.. This one has 4.. Not only that.. Abilities, then the Tech, Magic, Thrown Objects, and Psi abilities.. After i get home today, i'll put up some scans to show you what i mean.. I'll get four good characters scans then samples of the other 3 card types.. davebold370, i agree.. There's alot of things to the templates.. Probally have to do a major clean up on them..

Actually, i wasn't even hinting for templates, but i'm not knocking it if anyone wants to tackle it.. I'v played many ccgs.. Wildstorms, Battletech, Overpower, Dragon Ball Z, Raw Deal and one or 2 more i can't think of.. Its wild though that all the ccgs out there, Magic is the foundation.. I have ALWAYS wanted to play L5R, but no one around here plays it.. Most don't even know what it is.. Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh, and VS are about the only ccgs played.. HeroClix is pretty popular too.. Everyone is buying World Of Warcraft for the Loot cards.. Feel free to future the discussion though..

Personally, I've only played

Personally, I've only played Magic and Hecatomb, and by extension, I've used Vanguard. I played Hecatomb for the first time friday night; pretty cool. It gives me mixed feelings about it being discontinued; such a cool game will never get new official cards, but the produce would be so much more expensive it it were still in production.

I posted up the cards in the

I posted up the cards in the Template Request section.. It had to go into 2 post, so maybe i didn't break any rules for double posting.. It was because of the room..

Discontinued good games is a let down.. There are so many games flopping.. Hard to say what new game will actually stick around.. Magic, Pokemon, Yug, L5R are the only ones showing that they can survive times.. Makes you wonder if VS, WoW, or Naurto will end up makeing it..

I'd imagine VS will; there

I'd imagine VS will; there will always be people who like superheroes, and its the main card game for that genre, as Magic is for fantasy geeks, Yugioh is for Anime otaku, Pokemon is for video gamers (generalisation obviously). WoW will become outdated and thus so will the card game, even if it targets a large audience.

This makes me wonder: Sci-fi geeks are a large population subset, what's their card game? Star Trek tcg?

Once when going to a magic

Once when going to a magic pre-release in NYC, I saw some weird looking sci-fish cards, can't remember the name though, wait, I think it was War Hammer 40k, also a popular ttg

Battlestar Galactica, EVE,

Battlestar Galactica, EVE, Star Trek, Star Wars, Babylon 5 are just a few of the Sci-Fi TCG/CCG-s out there, and they're rising pretty fast.
