Manually setting color on back side of a double faced card

I am using a customized version of the extended art template, and trying to make some double-faced cards as if they were split cards. I have solved this issue with my split cards, because they both have mana costs, but I haven't figured out a way to set the color of the backside of double-faced cards without the mana cost. I am generating my cards with some scripting, and would prefer to set a variable for the card instead of manually selecting it through the card interface. I realize the original template uses scripting to accomplish this, but I haven't found a way to bypass the scripting in this case. I have attached an example card because this is so different from the original template.

I apologize for the double post, but I solved my problem. I hadn't thought to manually set and save the set file before looking at how MSE encoded it: card color: blue
