Im an IT-student and are considering doing a project that focuses on CCG and card games, and are currently looking into what is exists in the market today.

I have played around with "Magic Set Editor", but I have been unable to find the feature that MSE could "Analyze your set and find ways to improve it".

So my question is:
How does MSE improve your set? Does it come with suggestions? If so, what are those suggestions? Does it try to improve balance? Or does it come up with crazy suggestions?

Thanks for reading and please comment

There is no such thing as set analysis within the program itself, and I am not aware of any (legitimate) download or review site that makes such a claim.

This thread should be under Troubleshooting or MSE Design, by the way, not Card Clinic.

MSE doesn't automatically improve you set or give advice, but if you go the the "Statistics" window you can get informations like the color, rarity and cmc distribution of your cards, the number of creatures, the average rule text length, etc.

Then, it's the user that has to check if there are problems and solve them.

Maxi ) I think the implication he was making was that the analysis was done by the program itself.

"Analysis" refers specifically to how data is interpreted. The Statistics tab provides the raw data to be analysed.

And yet, analysis is listed as a feature of MSE.

Pichoro ) If that's the case, wouldn't it be an inaccurate claim? Merely providing the data to be read over and analysed is not, in and of itself, analysis.

Well, it states "Analyze your set and find ways to improve it" which I guess could be interpreted either way as the program does the analysis or you do. I can update it to be clearer since the program itself doesn't do an analysis.

Check out my updated set hub.
