Mana Symbol Issues

I was trying to replace the "green" symbol with a custom symbol I created (used the same file name, same file type).

Paint Shop Pro shows it as being transparent, as does Paint.NET, and when I preview the image.

Yet when I open it in the program, it shows it with a black border, like it isn't recognizing the transparency.

Any idea why? It looks the same as the other default symbols.

It seems that all of the small symbols (the ones in the text box) will have a black box no matter what if you import a new one. The same thing happened when I tried to put in reverse half mana symbols.

This isn't true. Before the

This isn't true. Before the lastest update of the the program, with the help of a number member of the forum, I imported snow mana symbols, and they worked great. I believe it has to be something in the editing of the symbol. I personally did no symbol editing, the symbol I received worked perfectly.

I wonder if importing it

<strike>I wonder if importing it into the symbol editor, then saving it that way might fix it...</strike>

That idea dosen't work...MSE2 must need a specific formatting or something to do it. Do you happen to remember the topic that helped to get the snow mana symbol to work?

It seems that MSE doesn't

It seems that MSE doesn't like colorkey transparency, which happens when there are only completely transparent and completely opaque pixels. The solution for now is to have a 99% or 1% transparent pixel somewhere.

The problem will be fixed in the next release.

Do you know how to do that

Do you know how to do that (in either PSP or Paint.NET)? (the transparent pixel thing)

Apparently if you choose to

Apparently if you choose to save the picture as .png in an image editting program that lets you choose the transparent color, they usually let you choose a new one as an option somewhere. I know Irfanview and PS 7.0 do this. Behold:

...I need to work on contrast for the casting costs.

The workaround I posted is no longer needed for 0.2.6, all images should work now.
